You'd be wrong.

Really? :lol How do you guarantee on a rotocast piece, that the thinner areas are actually thicker by simply weighing it? All weight proves is that there was more material used. It doesn't guarantee that the final product is actually thicker overall vs. settling down at the bottom, or lower-dipping areas within the piece itself while being cast.

Listen to you, my friend. Are you getting this piece? Have you ever spent $2k on a piece and it came damaged twice? If no, then you don't have much say in this thread.

We as customer can always help SS to improve the quality of their products by asking question, simply as that.

:lol Look at me? Look at you. You didn't even address the question. Probably, because you can't. Weighing it won't do diddly as far as proving/disproving the thickness of given areas of the finished product. :lol You should work for Sideshow Mr. Evasive, you'd be a hit with upcoming Product Q&As.

Nam, you're not allowed to talk in here. You haven't bought it, or contemplated buying it. If you're in here and have no grousing to contribute, you are not welcome. :lecture

That's not gonna prove anything so you guys are just wasting your time. There's a lovely post back a few pages that explains how the weight of the overall product doesn't mean squat when trying to determine thickness/thinness.

I'm not looking to prove anything. I just want to know the weight of the maquette less the base.

i don't follow statues much. do they usually tell you when it will be rotocast? I remember it was a surpise when the PF Fett helmet was changed.

I've been told that they are making sure that there is more polystone used and that it will be more evenly distributed through the interior of the statue as production moves forward.

well, that's sounds like good news. i'll choose to take it as evidence of sideshow acting on customer feedback. good move, sideshow.

I read an article that rotocast can only be filled with so much polystone. If you fill it more than half way it will never dry and coat properly. But I think this problem can be solved by putting small amounts of ploy in... Spinning it..adding more poly and build up the layers to make it thicker right?
With a large piece like this one wouldnt it make scense to make it at least and inch thick?

Man, and I sold my entire PF collection for this statue.

Or was it for my home theater, I don't remember anymore why I do the things that I do.

For instance, everytime I rob a bank I forget that I robbed it.

Anyways, can someone put up a video of them breaking their Iron Child by dropping a feather on it.

LOL at a character named Iron Man having a thread about it being weak.

I had/have no intentions of ordering this so, financially, it doesn't matter to me. That said, when when are talking about a $2,000 statue, collectors should NOT be seeing thin casts and paint issues.

~Maybe Sideshow didn't know that the cast was so thin; if they didn't, they need to rectify the situation or they are going to lose a ton of consumer confidence on future very-high end statues. (I don't think Cinamaquette has had these issues)

~If Sideshow did know that the cast was going to be so thin, customers have every right to show Sideshow their displeasure where it counts: return it.

The point is Sideshow has heard the complaints and has addressed it. A few of you have now posted 30+ posts spinning your wheels about the same thing. If it was wide spread, that would be one thing, but 2-3 of you _____ing for days on end just makes Sideshow ignore the thread.

I appreciate Dusty coming and I feel that she is as honest as she is allowed to be, for the most part, she tries to reply in the Ask Sideshow thread, and she is darn friendly. You guys have to remember, like any company, Sideshow has to keep quiet on certain things and are going to cover their arses. I give Sideshow credit for contacting Dave and letting him know an updated progress.

That said, Sideshow is not a giant corporation and 90% of their product goes to repeat buyers. I believe that they do owe it to us to have a far more active, communicating role in their product.

I know Sideshow produces far more product, but I gotta give credit to Randy Bowen on the statuemarvels because he always listens and replies to complaints.

Fair enough, but I expect a PM if you figure them out first. :lol

Don't hold your breath. I don't get it at all. They do seem to lose steam after a bit, but you know the next thread is only a few weeks away. It will have the same tirades, and they'll be given the same answers they always get (is it different people each time? I can't tell) and those will die out the same way. The world will turn, people will like the Sideshow stuff they buy, and in the end, both of us will be wondering why we bother.
