Some people are so moronic as to think that with beratement they will get any form of answer/feedback.

There are some major entitlement disorders on this board.

Not to mention the serious error of entirely misjudging someone's character, whom they obviously have never met.

:monkey4

Thankfully those collectors with entitlement and other issues are in the minority here on the Freaks board.

Pretty much :lecture

I don't see why Sideshow should explain anything to those who are not planning to buy this piece?

I am sure Sideshow did answer to owners that had problems with this piece privately.

people are probably waiting to hear somethin before they drop $2K
If Sideshow comes on this board and say the whole piece is solid, do you think its would make any difference in sale?

Bottom line, the problem is not how thick or thin the piece is but the price. If this piece is $500 dollars, i don't think we have similar thread like this.

Inappropriate and rude posts have been deleted.

Dusty has said that they were looking at the issue and that a few of the first ones out were samples ... but not all of them were so affected, as we have seen evidence of perfection.

The person who had received 2 broken ones has now received a 3rd which is fine. And he showed that they had changed the packaging to better protect it.

This is a rotocast piece so the polystone will be thinner in places - that is the nature of rotocast. I've been told that they are making sure that there is more polystone used and that it will be more evenly distributed through the interior of the statue as production moves forward. Most likely the one recently received was from that new batch.

Nice, good to hear they are improving that aspect, that should appease quite a few peeps. Thanks for the update :)

That's bizarre, how will they be able to fleece and gouge and exploit collectors by producing inferior products if they fix it??? :dunno

Their evil plot was obviously foiled by the powers of truth, justice, and the hysterically indignant clucking of the mighty Chicken Little. It's a good thing you have this board Dave. Otherwise, people would have to call customer service and get the problem solved with little to no self-aggrandizing public smears of a great company that doesn't deserve it.

Ok. The weight of the box for the maquette is 12.8lbs. And the weight of the maquette and base is 37.4lbs. Math time!

if they do fis the thickness problem, (not likely) what about all the ones that are already out in the public??
whom ever owns one of these better make sure that when and if you sell it, you have insurance on it or else you know what will happen.:D

There aren't many out in the public and the thickness thing wasn't a consistent problem but only in a few of them. When you rotocast you can't determine where all the internal polystone will end up.

EXCELLENT news! I hope we see some thicker ones. It would make me a lot more comfortable about picking mine up from my dealer.

What's the weight of the maquette less the base?

That's not gonna prove anything so you guys are just wasting your time. There's a lovely post back a few pages that explains how the weight of the overall product doesn't mean squat when trying to determine thickness/thinness.
