well I was looking forward to playing with the xbox one last nite with my nephew's system.

I get there and when I went down stairs all I saw was this young kid with the worst dissapointment face ever.

I knew right away what was wrong.
the xbox one not reading the disk.

we just came back from eb games and I demanded a new unit right away. he said they cannot do anything about it. we have to contact microsoft and that they had several return units.

I have never seen a more dissapointed kid ever.
I told him dont worrie he will get one soon let's hope.

No man, woman or child should have to suffer a broken console out of the box

Hopefully we see no issues down the line for either console.

ohh man ! I wanted to play ryse so bad and forza and actually do and unboxing of the xbox one.

he almost smashed the thing! I stoped him.

it's sad story but he will get a new one and hope it's good.

So far, mines doing well too. Not all of the reports of problems are going to be trolls or haters. Theres been enough stories out there of issues. Its inevitable on a hardware launch.

Man that sucks about your nephews console. I'm away from home so I got my brother to install & check my console luckily it was fine but if it was broken it would of been a disappointment & I'm a 33yr old man. For a kid or young teenager it's heartbreaking

Sorry to hear about the messed up consoles. So far so good for me. Knock on wood.

I think they do need to refine the Xbox Live hub a little. It is much simpler and less to navigate but somethings are clunky. I see a lot of updates coming with minor tweaks to address gamer concerns (for example: auto sign-in WITHOUT Kinect).

Been playing ACIV and it is GORGEOUS on the Xbox One. A huge difference from the 360 version.

When you guys turn your system off in standby mode, can you still hear it running?

I have my Xbox in my room so I don't want to have that running sound constantly going. I know I can turn it to energy saving mode but it takes forever for the system to boot up and log me in.

Best thing for me so far about xbox one. Fifa and DR3. I've had such a blast playing fifa and DR3 with my friend.

The system however needs some major tweaks. Mainly the invite system and partying up. I also dislike how when using skype you still talk in game. They need a battery life indicator for the controller. They really need to patch kinect's voice recognition as it is shockingly bad for something they marketed so hard. Th UI feels very jammed and by that i mean its a sub menu within a sub menu and they tried to squish it all into 3 sections. The 360 dash was fine and i prefer it.

However Visually i am please with the games, i am just a little dissapointed with the software at the moment.

Forza % is amazing if anyone is a car nut this game is for you its amazing and its cool in career you are racing against your friends ai and other people ai from the cloud.

right now its shocking. Im about 5 feet from the kinect and it took 5 times before it realised i was saying xbox

you can recalibrate the volume and how it detects in settings under kinect try that

I've noticed that as well, I can clearly hear it running even though it is "supposedly" off.

There is always a certain low % of launch problems for any device that comes out.

The kinect must be a hit or miss because I have no problems with it really except if I say "Xbox home" it will bring up Help menu, but then "Xbox Go Home" takes me straight there.

I have nothing negative to say about the system other than the slow installs.

Gotta say: played on my cousin's xbox one with kinect set up tonight, and was impressed.

Love the new controller, and did not hate kinect - sure, it was used a voice command only and it needs some work, but all-in-all, not bad. The box itself isn't as huge as I thought, nor as heavy. Dead Rising 3 looked pretty killer

What noise do you speak off my xbox one is super quite docent make any noise at all Just seen you guys were talking about a noise she nthe system is turned off i just checked mine and you do hear a lil hum coming from the system nothing loud . Also i noticed she nthe system is on or off the power brick is lit white you would think when it is off the brick would be a different color like amber or something

I also noticed whenever I do something bad *** in battlefield 4 the system automatically records the highlight its pretty cool . DOnt know how its doing it . I had a guy try to sneak up on me and knife me and idid the counter attack thing were you take his knive and stab him and got the achievement and it recorded it.

just noticed its the power brick thats actually making the hum noise its not loud though is it safe to leave these things plugged in or should you unplug it when not using it

I was just told bye a friend that all electronics make some noise when there off I checked my cable box that even makes a lil noise so I'm not worried about it it plays games reads disc that's all I can ask for at of a vide game sytem lol
