So far I like it pretty well, the voice controls work much better than before. The only issue is during TV or movies it can be hard for it to hear you, even though it's supposed to work. As for motion control, it doesn't use it hardly at all. Though it is pretty cool how it recognizes people that walk into the room.

The controller is pretty great as well, the trigger rumble is very interesting and pretty cool, and I like how the controller feels. So far the games are also pretty great--Forza is just amazingly beautiful, and Ryse is actually pretty fun--the combat though does get old pretty fast, you do the same stuff over and over for the most part. That one is a game you play just for the graphics I think.

How do you set up kinnect to recognize you and who is in the room

Yeah, the noise is the humming noise it makes in standby. I'm too lazy to get up right now and see if it's the system or the brick like some have mentioned. That being said I've had the xbox on standby mode again today and the humming doesn't really bother me all that much now. It's easily drowned out by my TV and the fan is on and I'm aware of the sound but the fan covers it.

I find it a little silly though that to turn the system on, you say "Xbox on" but in order to turn it off, you have to say "Xbox turn off". I've lost count of how many times I said "Xbox off" and then realized I had to add in the turn.

When you first setup the Xbox it'll ask you if you want it to automatically sign you in using facial recognition. For whomever has an account on the console it will automatically sign them in when they walk in. Though it won't switch the active login unless you sign that person out. So if I'm playing a game and it's got my profile and UI settings open and my brother walks in it'll just add his profile next to mine at the top.

well I was looking forward to playing with the xbox one last nite with my nephew's system.

I get there and when I went down stairs all I saw was this young kid with the worst dissapointment face ever.

I knew right away what was wrong.
the xbox one not reading the disk.

we just came back from eb games and I demanded a new unit right away. he said they cannot do anything about it. we have to contact microsoft and that they had several return units.

I have never seen a more dissapointed kid ever.
I told him dont worrie he will get one soon let's hope.

That really sucks :( hopefully it will get sorted real soon and you both get to play this great system.

I really like the kinect and with further tweaking and patches, this thing can be really cool. The only thing I dont like is when I say xbox turn off, it asks me if im sure lol. Then I have to say yes.
If it starts asking me if im sure I want to play Forza or killer instainct, il probably punch it.

Im really not having any issues with it. The machine is super quiet and I cant hear it in low power mode. I can lay on my bed, about 20 feet away and say x box on and it turns on. It really is cool.

So jealous of you all. Playing with my Dad's One I really like where they are going with the system.

I think the Snap system could be better explained and I hope they can streamline it a bit more. It's a very cool feature that is just not being fully used yet.

The TV Guide is also a very neat feature for those who don't have a cable box though it may be a bit redundant for people like me that have a DVR box though. Maybe in the future the Xbox can be a DVR itself and record the shows so I can downgrade to just a standard box.

It really seems like they took the 360 and tried to better implement everything. I forsee a large dashboard upgrade in the near future that will just bring everything together even better. Now I just need to go back over since he bought some games!

Mine listens to me perfect...kinda too well if you ask me..I feel when I turn the system on it is already at the home screen so the system is just in standby. As if I did not go through the steps of pressing console off.

On top of that you just say xbox on and it pops on. Its always listening to you...THEY ARE ALWAYS LISTENING TO YOU...lol

I noticed if you un plug the console and plug it back in the power brick light is amber instead of white when in stand bye then when you turn the system on you get the green xbox logo and it takes longer to load up so i just leave it plug in when plugged in and in standby mode the power brick light is white when you turn it on you are already at the menu like you said.
