Sorry for the crappy pictures..I’ll be taking clearer pictures soon when I compare him to the DX28.

This guy is a Sideshow ROTJ with a custom burnt Anakin head sculpt…I need to look up the artists name but he took a few Hasbro Anakin head sculpts and did this to them. In hand the likeness is INSANE. Very detailed but missing the fine details that would be found in a Hot Toys figures eyes. Still extremely nice in hand.

I’ll take better pictures soon. This guy really does it for me until the Holiest of Holies is released….Hot Toys Revenge of the Sith Darth Vader with an interchangeable freshly burnt Anakin head.

That looks REALLY good. Impressive!

Finally arrived from sideshow. Since I dislike the show so much, I’m using this as my rogue one Vader, as I missed that one. The damaged portrait is great, but I’d rather use this for my rogue one setup. I’ll futz it fully later, this was a quick unboxing while kids are busy and wife is out.

This is as far as I know accurate to rogue one, sans both tusks being as new, and updated with the USB features.

I received mine today. I have had experience with all of the Sideshow and Hot Toys Vaders, and I believe this is the best straight out of the box Vader thus far. Unless they significantly change the Return of the Jedi Vader, then I believe this one will have better proportions and a better helmet.

The proportions are really good on this figure. I wasn't initially sure how I felt about having a cape with the collar that goes over the neck as none of the previous figures had the cape go over. I actually like that look, as I have always felt that the neck on the Hot Toys helmet was inaccurate, and having the cape go over it hides it a bit.

However, I do have some nitpicks. The cape is too short for this body. It looks like it was made for the height of the ESB / ROTJ Vader body. Also, the control box and belt boxes look really boring when the lights are not on. Almost monochromatic. Older Vader figures did a good job of having the lighted elements still have a pop of color even when the batteries were not on. I'm not sure why these are so desaturated. Finally, the cape being two-ply means that it does not drape as well as previous capes. It's hard to have Vader not look kinda puffy.

Even with all those nitpicks, I still think this figure is great and better than any other Vader without modifications. I think this will be my final Vader until Hot Toys gets around to doing a more accurate helmet.

What's the best cape for this to get, I got the ESB cape but though that drapes better then the double-sided one for dx28 it still does not drape well enough

I have always thought the ANH Vader cape drapes well. Though I did cut a slit in the inner lining of the ANH cape and inserted a couple quarters. It gave it some weight. I wonder if something similar would help with this Vaders 2 ply cape.

changed my search from "1/6 Darth Vader body" to "Hot Toys Obi Wan Kenobi Darth Vader body" and found one right away for $40, happy this wasnt a daunting search.

now to use the upper body for a non Star Wars unrelated custom :ROFLMAO:
