Continuing my Maximum Carnage line up with Doppelganger! Not completely done but good enough for now. Also gave Shriek new boots.

Anyone have any recomendations on what body and clothing set to use when creating a Logan custom from the Logan 2017 movie?

I've got a head sculpt and going to try source the new arms from the Hot Toys Wolverine figure, anyone also know where I could purchase parts from a Hot Toy figure rather than the whole thing?

Nice work! I made a Mcfarlane venom head sculpt. Also customized my Andrew Garfield amazing spider-man version 1 to a symbiote suit.

Hey guys @Skull Knight @KitbashOfficer @majorzero64 @Gipetto0812 @Predfred you guys and several others on this forum have inspired me to do more in regards to modifications and customizations than I would have ever believed I would when I started this hobby in 2017.

As I have stated before Thor is my favorite character and I was excited about getting the Love and Thunder figure even though I knew there were some things about the prototype (as seen in the film) I didn’t like so much.

That said, when he arrived I a few days ago knew that I was going to put the modified AOU head with helmet from Thor 1 on him. I had this head previously on my Thor the Dark World (Heavy Armor) figure. It was my very first Hot Toy so it holds a special place for me. However, that head does not work on the Love & Thunder neck because it has a magnetic attachment. So that meant another drastic head modification that I wanted to avoid.

I think I flew a little “too close to the sun” when I decided to paint over the gold part of his chest plate. My eyes and hands have aged and it shows, also I forgot to thin out my paint as I should have so I have some visible brush strokes. So maybe I had become a little over confident about what I can do.

At any rate, despite the flaws (mine) I really love this figure now and he is now much more representative of what I would consider a definitive Thor for my collection. I just put a couple pics on the figure link but wanted to share more here as I think it’s more appropriate.

Great idea with that helmet/head combo! Don't worry about brush strokes, it adds a certain level of realism to the figure in my opinion.

When it comes to painting armor, especially from one color to another, I usually paint it silver first. It not only covers up the previous color but makes it look like battle wear once you've put on a coat of the actual desired finish color.

Oh, wow, first layer in silver is a great idea!!
Thanks!

Really nice work @Omega9300 :clap do you prefer him holding stormbreaker or mjolnir?

I still have a diecast AOU hammer waiting to be used with a new Thor figure since I’m sure HT is done with the diecast hammers. I’m hoping the Artisan Thor rumor is true.

I definitely understand what you mean by aging getting the better of you with the brush strokes. As I’ve gotten older, my tremors have gotten worse so I can’t do repaints like I used to which is sort of why I just stick to modding clothing now more than anything. I can hide the mistakes a little better 😆

Thanks a lot @Gipetto0812!

I think this figure looks really good with Stormbreaker and Mjolnir, but for some reason when he is wearing this helmet I think he looks better holding Mjolnir.

As far as an Artisan Thor is concerned, my interest will depend on which version they make, but yeah I can imagine a Thor with rooted hair looking fantastic.

Yeah, it’s funny that you would think that this is a hobby that aging would not be that impactful, but if you do modifications it certainly can. It’s frustrating but I guess that’s right. But like you said, we will keep finding ways to modify where we feel it is needed or desired 😁

So, I did some slight touch-ups on his helmet and the chest plate. I may do a little more refinement on a few areas on his armor but I may just quite while I am ahead.

In any case I am really happy I took the initiative to make some changes to this figure …

Not much of a custom, just a repaint of redwing, and a shield from Concept Cap added, cause the color matches so well. Just my own version of a What If?…. Captain America of Sam!

So I think I am done tinkering with this guy!

I have a few things that can be “cleaned up” on him but I fear I may create other issues. So I may have come to the point that my skill/capabilities don’t match what I still would like to do with this Thor.

In any event I did some sanding and repainting on some areas. It didn’t fix everything but looks better in person than before. I don’t think I matched the color on his chest armor as well as before, but I am pretty happy with how it came out this time.

I repainted the dials on his torso a steel color, the chrome was a little too bright for me, I wanted to tone down his suit a bit more.

I added some “Tacky” to the top of his neck, now his head stays up a lot better, before his had the tendency to migrate down, probably due to the magnet.

Howdy! I wanted to share my Classic 1/6 Spider but wasn’t sure if to post here or make a new thread. Been wanting for a Classic Spidey, but the Hot Toys CMS015 Comic one didn’t grab me all the way. I loved the New Red & Blue Suit figure, but I wanted something very comic booky from my era so I made one! Cheers thanks for looking.
