How many of these are coming in damaged?...and what is SS doing about it?

Guys, Guys, Guys....I find it VERY hard to believe this is the look that SS were going for. Nowhere in the movie did Iron man sport a burgundy/maroon suit....EVEN IF IT WAS BATTLE DAMAGED it still LOOKD RED. This is a far cry and a poor excuse to let SS get away with this. I also dont recall anywhere in the movie wet paint streaks on the face of IM suit. This bust was not advertized as "battle damaged or USED". So how can you speak on SS behalf saying this is the look they were going for.....thats because it wasnt....it was just poorly made..simple as that and everyone here who bought one got ripped off. Dont try to make yourselves feel better about losing $700 to a piece of junk....FACT IS...what you are looking at isnt what you paid for and thus have had your money stolen from you.
Even if you choose to keep it from an investment point of view....what for?
Word is out these things arge garbage, how is this thing going to appreciate in value if no one wants to buy them in the future because of their Sh**y manufactureing application. Thats like saying...buying a new hyundai and keeping it for 5 years will increase its value (even though they are garbage made cars)....wheres the logic in that?..

Chris

Still after all the bad reviews i've put myself today on the waitlist. What are the chances that it'll be converted and that i'll have one?

:lol:lol

HYUNDAI, ok now them are fighting words:cuss:angrycanu.

i love my hyundai.:lol:lol

j/k don't own one, nor do i want to. up here in canada those types of cars quit working when it hits -40.
sorry to hear about your bust, just saying the one i saw at the lcs looked pretty decent to me w/o the high gloss cherry red.
each to his own.

I would say that I am one of the biggest Iron Man fans on these boards. If it isn't up to par I'll definitely let you know and it'll go back for a replacement or a refund. Until I have it in hand I refuse to take any words against it or for it. In reality though every single Iron Man release from SSC has had scratches, dents, paint app issues and at worst breaks. I never considered this to be any different. I reserve judgment until I open the box and look at it myself.

The "battle damaged" comment is just forum humor, you know people joking while they nervously await theirs.

I hope you can get a replacement. And I hope mine comes in good shape.

Being modest, eh?

You are wise!

This happens to be just the nature of this game!

Did you see my pics? Not too shabby right?

I dont know what people are so upset about! Some are going to be flawed some are not. If you are the biggest IM fan, like me....dont miss this one!

I'll use my 1:1 IM bust to smack Mike over the head with it... he's such a jerk. A lovable jerk, but a jerk nonetheless.

I just sent this to SS Customer Service, let them know how you feel.....

Hello Sideshow Person!
First, I really love your customer service and many of the products that you have released. I don't have many of your figures but they are amazing to have in a theatre room.
Second, I don't want to return or exchange my Iron Man Bust, but just wanted you to know how unhappy I am with the piece. I was promised a bust, "cast in fiber glass" and a paint job that would remind me of "a new car finish". These are quotes from your copy and video. What I received was a bust of Iron Man that really does look like the character, but really doesn't resemble the prototype. The paint varies in shades, is not very shiny at all, and really rough on the inside edges. I don't want to go thru the hassle of an exchange as I believe this is how they all probably look.

I would like to remind you of who your collectors and supporters are:

We pre-order something 6 months in advance and during the time probably go on your web-site every other day to check out what will be the envy of movie and comic lovers that see it.
When the SS newsletter arrives we scan the "shipping in 30" days hoping that our pre-order will be on the list.
Most of us don't care about re-selling the piece. We want to enjoy it forever and maybe pass on to our children.
We tell everyone that will listen about our investment and and how we will be sometime in "the 3rd quarter of 09."

In the past Sideshow has done some amazing work and made many collectors happy, but have to question some of the quality control recently.
I was really dissapointed with The Indiana Jones premium format and now the Iron Man bust. It seems the challenges are paint issues and I am asking that you please correct them. We want to due business with you, we want to spend our money, even in this economy with you.
I do not want to return the bust, but if there is any kind of re-call or a way that you can make me and many others feel better about the purchase, I want to put on that list.
Thanks for your consideration......

Flattery will get you nowhere Eli. :lol

Mike, you should change your lastname to Stark and go around the neighbourhood wearing an Iron Man suit. Only then, will you truly be awesome. Not just awesome, but pure awesome... 100%! Right now, you're two thirds awesome with a hint of kick ass.

Who did you order yours from? I ordered mine from PopCultcha.

yeah i ordered mine from popcultcha too - I just emailed them yesterday about delivery and they said it's still TBA.

It's a shame sideshow have been getting all this bad press (on here) lately - i mean i got the indy pf and i like it - looks just like him. I hope with the price of the iron man that it is not as bad or bad at all as people say!

It's always good to let Sideshow know how you feel about a piece, but if Sideshow responds, be prepared for the cookie cutter response of, "These pieces are hand-made so there will be variations between the prototype and final piece...." blah, blah. Collectors got that response with Indy PF and Moria Orc PF. Don't anticipate Sideshow to go out of their way to fix what you perceive as a potential problem.
