Mine landed in NY today. Hopefully it doesn't get hung up in customs for a week.

This or King Arts 1/9 Hulk Buster? I can only have one and like them both equally.

Hey thanks for the advice! I will see in hand once I get it and if nay I will try to return it and just eat shipping. Should be ok. But I honestly do hope it will turn out great. This is my favortie armor of all of armors so far. Do you like 42 or 43 more?

You shouldn't expect the weathering to ever match the prototype. This doesn't apply to just Hot Toys. Threezero, ThreeA, etc
One prototype is done by the head painter and then it's photographed. Can't expect the weathering to match scratch for scratch when the final production comes out from the factory. The figure is insanely well done and I personally don't see how the weathering not lining up to the prototype should ruin that. See it for yourself when you receive the figure but I think that's a very minor thing, all things considered on a great looking figure such as this.

Anyone ever bought a McDonalds Big Mac that looked like they do on the poster?... I rest my case...

Um, guys, I dont want to ruin the party. But I had this gut feeling since the actual final product photos for the quarter scale iron man came out. The truth is the weathering is different than the prototype. I understand the stand point because because its a mass produced item, therefore its gonna be different. But the markings are done differently, in a completely different style, and strangely colored with some shadows/black marks which makes it look unreal and cheap. Scraped metal doesnt have black markings, and it doesnt add any realism either.

The most important part that I thought it was massively different is the head helmet. if you do a comparison picture, its a BIG difference. It looks nothing like the proto type. The chin is HUGE. The eyes still slightly bigger than the prototype. The face is scretched a bit vertically.

Not sure what you're comparing. I just overlaid the prototype photo with a screencap of the Xenomorph YouTube video of the head and it matches perfectly.

Also, the videos on YouTube verify the paint app on the shipping models are awesome. Also, don't forget that Hot Toys is using the original CGI files from the movie, so it it will be very accurate. The 1/4 scale affords them less alteration on the model than the 1/6 scale model, taking into account for posing.

From what I've seen from several videos of the shipped product on YouTube this looks to be the ultimate Iron Man to own from Hot Toys.

Here's another video that does a good job of showing the subtle battle damage.

You can see it best when his glove covers the light glare on the helmet. The detail is awesome on this! It looks like the real thing!!

I'm betting you won't sell yours.

Now that's a decision. King Arts Hulkbuster looks totally awesome.

I'd also vote for the HT Mark 43 since I think HT paint app would be just a bit better. And this Iron Man suit looks to have evolved the design of the Iron Man suits to the level of something that actually looks like it could exist. A nice balance of detail and style.

My 2 cents.

Hey I appreciate the reply. I guess I am just really worried because its really expensive. This will be my first 1/4 so theres that. But yeah, I cant wait to get it and be a center piece on my desk. Thanks guys. The mark 42 also looks very nice, if this one goes well, I will get that one too. As the golden theme suits me better.

The hand painted weathering and bd on a prototype figure will usually (95%) be different then the final production piece. The proto has a master painter spending hours a day for many days painting it to get it perfect. To have each production piece done to that level would take a lot more time and cost A LOT more money.
