if one thinks the proportions are off, they've been staring at too many 1/6 IM

Re: 1/4 Hot Toys - QS005 - Avengers: AoU - 1/4 Iron Man Mark 43 Figure

I think this figure is gorgeous and looks just like a movie prop. I know it will be pricey but this will be my heirloom. A grail figure as it were.

Obviously that's just one man's opinion, but I strongly disagree with him. the 1/4 nailed the proportions.
It looks almost just like its 1:1 counterpart.

I saw budget stark filming this video yesterday at the toy show. however,
I also disagree with his comments, I thnk the 1:4 scale's color and proportion
are absolutely spot on. Definitely going to buy it!

Agreed. Definitely the best IM they have made to date IMO (in terms of realism).

Re: 1/4 Hot Toys - QS005 - Avengers: AoU - 1/4 Iron Man Mark 43 Figure

I was looking at this thing, and I have to say: it's ****ing impressive. I was imagining it in a display case, and I wonder if this'll be the first Iron Man with a remote. If they could do that for the armory, I don't see why they couldn't do it here, and I can't think of a better place to start. Maybe it's just because I've always associated the scale with PFs, but I always thought that 1/6th was the scale that you "play with," and 1/4, while still giving you the option of being able to "play with it," was more of a display piece that you changed up once every few months. With that in mind, I think it'd be cool if you could "power him up," as it were, every time you were home or felt like it, without having to take him out and mess with it.

Maybe it has to do with it being a different scale, but, between the design, and the execution of the figure itself, this just really impressed me. It's a beautiful piece, and I'm genuinely hoping the film lives up to it. Well, Howard, I guess hell has officially frozen over, as you've shut me up. I stopped bitching about Iron Man a long time ago, but I think this is the first time I've ever sung his praises.:lol

Re: 1/4 Hot Toys - QS005 - Avengers: AoU - 1/4 Iron Man Mark 43 Figure

When people say 1:6 scale mark 43 (or 42) is better proportion, it just amuse me, but I could understand why people say this 1/4 is not in proportion. The body is a little bit small( very hard to notice though). They could make the body a little thicker and bulky like Sideshow one, but HT they perfectly nail the paint job. Nonetheless, I love it and I'll pre-order for sure.

:goodpost:
Well said!

Ive often thought about how a remote would be useful, ever so with the 1/6 Mark 42 having the faceplate light switch under the headpiece is a real pain compared the previously on the back of the neck.

So im all in for a remote! and depending on price, all in for this!

Seriously this budget stark noob is getting more and more irritating. An obvious scalper who constantly post inaccurate information abt hot toys and the hongkong market and its scalping scene. Now this 1/4 scale not accurate ****?! LOL wat a fool he is.

Re: 1/4 Hot Toys - QS005 - Avengers: AoU - 1/4 Iron Man Mark 43 Figure

HT better start bringing these proportions to their newer 1/6th Iron Man figures. It took them this long to get them right. Kinda sucks i'm done with getting Iron Man after I get the Mark III diecast and whatever I will choose for my Avengers display.

He seems genuine enough to me, I thought he was expressing his own opinion whilst sharing the video with us to see it..., is that a crime now?!? I'm capable of deciding if I like something or not, I'm sure you are too. :)

from the photos i am starting to think this 1/4 scale mark 43 might be in diecast.
what would be the price range for a 1/4 scale diecast action figure?

Thanks for the pics, but what would lead you to believe that's DC?

look at the joints. they dont look like plastic, do they?
highly reflective and with sharp edges.

Re: 1/4 Hot Toys - QS005 - Avengers: AoU - 1/4 Iron Man Mark 43 Figure

IMO it's hard to tell just by looking. That's how good HT is, especially since it's the proto done by the master painter. But if it is die-cast, expect this to be no lest than $550. Even if HT does not make it 85% die-cast like Play Imaginative's 1/4 WM2.0 which goes for $610, this is the premiere brand we're talking about.
