We all want it but we are afraid of getting another TFA repeat figure.

That has to be one of HT worse ever releases. Horrific!

It just needs a good styling and maybe some water spritzes.even a quick spray of fabric guard to de static it. Look at all the close-up pictures. It’s very fuzzy and frizzy right now. The people at the shows don’t know how to pose or futz a figure.

At least the hair colouring looks better. Weather the production piece matches up is a whole other matter.
I have a bad feeling it probably won't.

I’m game for three of these most likely. ESB as shown with 3PO, one to pair with ROTJ Han and one to put on a leash for Boussh.

I’m hoping two versions will be available. One deluxe with a broken down 3PO and one regular without.

That's a lot of Chewie.

Maybe they figured out a new tech for doing this, which will bring us more versions of Chewbacca. Maybe better to wait and see rather than buy multiples in advance.

I wish HT had given us something akin to the REGAL ROBOT life size sculpts.

They cost a small fortune but they're things of beauty...

Hard to compare a life size they might've made a couple hundred of to a 1/6 scale figure that they've got make thousands of. I agree that thing is beautiful but I'll temper my expectations for HT to accomplish that. I wish they'd do a 1/4 scale smuggler Han and haired Chewie...Then I'll expect something closer to this!

Of course i don't expect HT to compete with an expensive life size replica. But they should aspire to give us something better than we got before.
They could have at least made a newer sculpted head with a better looking mouth, along with movable eyes, which are now common place on all their figures.
That proto appears to have the same under sculpt as the previous TFA version with some better coloured and positioned fur on it. It just looks lazy.

Seeing him with his Bespin break-out look, it begs the question: will they finally do ESB stormtroopers? And how badly will they sculpt the helmets?

I know you’re probably all sick of seeing this photo, but whenever someone sites TFA Chewie as being awful, I’m compelled to show that although the stock figure’s head came with some obvious defects, modification of that terrible lip area completely transforms the piece because the rest of him was beautifully done!

This is my favorite Chewie, including this new (weird looking one to my eye) teased version. Maybe we can modify him a bit too.

I have three ANH Chewies and would get at least one of these, but yeah waiting until in-hand pics arrive before ordering another would be smart. This has a very high probability of not matching the (imo already a bit off) proto.

I personally think the ANH Chewbacca is pretty impressive. Not perfect but considering how old it is I think it’s held up really well. I really want this new version but I have no complaints with my current figure.

ANH Chewie is really well done. Just lacked the correct coloring on the facial fur. Hence the pastels. But the majority of the fur on it was nicely colored and well fitted to a near perfect body. Really impressive figure for the time. I just wish HT would have really improved it like they’ve done for other figures.

Yeah they pretty much nailed the body a decade ago. They need to set up a special HT task force to solely focus on getting Chewie's head right.

This new one has a slight "drunk wookie" vibe and despite nailing a pretty realistic wookie it just doesn't really capture Chewie, either ESB or any of his OT looks really.

i might get this if the figure looks like this or better. but i have my custom chewbacca as well. could always use a few chewies
