diecast is still in the beginning phase like CDs in a cassette tape market. i believe the mark 42 and iron patriot will ONLY be available in diecast.

Not really, what about the Bandai figures in the early 80's, Voltron etc, they were diecast years ago (some toys from the 40's were diecast), if anything companies just moved away from it to use more plastic for whatever reasons, cheaper etc.

I agree with what you said in regards to them not doing a plastic version and a Diecast version of the Iron Man figures. They've moved to diecast parts for realism and to take their 'toys' a step further in quality and innovation.

they haven't moved to DieCast. There is a reason it clearly says "DIECAST". They will make a reg MMS plastic Mark 42. Why? Because ALL it is is a simple repaint of MOLDS they already have and produced 1,000's of. A few interchangeable parts and that's about it. Chan already said they are planning on making 15 IM3 figures. If you think we get more than 6 Diecast figures then you just haven't paid attention to how HT's does things.

To quote a favorite line from the Rock.

"Diecast IronMan figures are still in the test phase. EXOTICLEX knows this. We are dealing with one smart....."

Heartbreaker is coming as Diecast

Igor is coming as a MMS

Red Snapper is coming as PPS

Rough translation:

As a young person reaches a certain age, they are often asked themselves if there is still more out there and try to walk ahead to learn and experience. To be responsible to oneself and have a sense of accomplishment or fulfillment.

I started at 25 with my first store. Well that was back in 98...wow its been 15 years now cause now I am exactly 40. Last year we already did a promo exhibition for the Avengers. So we decided to do it again this year, but on a larger scale. So we reached out to Marvel/Disney and discovered that they too would be interested in a promotional exhibition. It's was decided that Marvel would team up with Hot Toys and find a venue for the exhibition. From the time of inception till the opening of the exhibition it took the greater part of a half year to prepare.

Actually in the beginning, its quite unbelievable but nobody really wanted to do the Iron Man. Iron Man at that time, wasn't viewed as an A-list movie. A-list movie heroes were Spider-Man or perhaps even the X-Men was considered more popular. It was 3 months prior to the release of Iron Man 1 that I decide to pick up this line.

We discovered that with the Iron Man we had to start fresh. It's not the case where we could just take a bare figure and place armor on it. If you look at Iron Man the proportions aren't realistic because he is made in CG animation.

When I first started I would hear a lot of, "So You're a HK company, or so you're a Thai national...why should I buy your products? Why wouldn't I buy an American made product or a Japanese made product?" There would be times when I collaborated with designers and did some Japanese characters. But I would here people say "Well it looks good but it isn't Japanese made."

But very slowly we have developed into a company where now I hear people say, "This HK company does some good work." I won't win best design for everything but at least now I feel I have created a product that I can place next to an American-made or Japanese-made product and not feel embarrassed.

Nice to see someone translating it, Thanks justme :wave

talk about mixing it up....

Some coming as normal MMS releases, some as MMS.

keen to see what 'power pose' they go with for the RedSnapper

Yeah, but what's crazy is MMS and Diecast MMS figures could still end up being the same price.

I have it the opposite way. :lol
I feel like waiting on the movie before deciding to get this or not.

Problem is that I only have until the 19th to decide :lol

As much as I wanted to wait until I see this suit of armor in action when the movie opens next week here in the Philippines, I would place my PO today as we only have until the 19th to do so

Better do it now than scratch my head later for passing :nono
