OH no, not a passing cameo. Literally like his Sam's role in TWS. kind of a main secondary character. Dude, I don't think it's that strange, there's been way stranger things on screen. And you could totally translate his backstory on screen. It's not that hard at all. Honestly, nothing is too strange as long as you explain and execute it right. I think people underestimate the general audience way too much.

It's not just the look, or the back story, or that he's almost thor.....it's everything together. Yes, weird things can work. Rocket and Groot are good examples. But they are stand alone characters. There's nothing confusing about them. Both alien. Both seperate. BrB is thor with a different head. On screen that's going to be an issue. People are amalready confused by stuff.

I think you are overestimating the general audience. When you make a movie it's not just about one group of people. To be successful you have to make it appealing to a huge swath of people. I think you may be surprised by how easily someone with no back story can be confused by a movie. See it all the time. I would be willing to bet a lot of money brb doesn't get a role even close to the falcon level. (Again, this is not my wants but what I think will happen based on my experience). When the industry that created him doesn't feature him when it costs them nothing extra to do so, I don't see them gambling millions to do so.

I don't think that it would be that difficult to throw BrB into the fray. In fact it almost seems too easy. Firstly, Beta Ray has had more facetime in cartoons than any of the GotG. He was on the Planet Hulk cartoon and the Avengers EMH cartoon, so he's had facetime.

Secondly, something is going to happen to Thor, I mean the movie's called Ragnarok and not only that, he was missing during the Infinity Gauntlet. Does this meant they have to follow the comic? No, but honestly I see a mixture of new and old comics coming together with the IW movies. I think Cap will be killed and replaced by Bucky, I think Thor will be killed during Ragnarok, not sure about Hulk, but I think IM will be left wishing they were still around, then by whatever turn of events they bring them back with the gauntlet for the final film.

Going back to the BrB thing though, if they wanted to bring him in I totally think it would work. He could replace Thor while he's gone or dead or whatever, and in the Infinity Gauntlet it was Thunderstrike (even though the others didn't know it) that was Thor, I think BrB would be a fine substitute for him.

Anyway, my 2 cents. I just see the whole thing working a lot better than it should.

You could be right. I am only speculating. But from what I have heard and seen if(big if) thor either dies or goes missing he would not be replaced with Brb, but more like what they are doing in the comics now. A new female thor. That's something Fiege has wanted to do from the start. In fact I heard it played a part in the current comic ark. Using it as a focus group as it where. Just industry talk, but sometimes it turns out true.

The thing with brb is, even if he would/could work, which he could but I think it would bother some people...there are hundreds of other options to use. There's got to be someone and some reason to go with him. And given all the issues I stated before, I don't see them turning one of the main franchises into the Brb franchise. A cameo, maybe. But I still find that to be a long shot.

Oh yeah, without a doubt the comics are/have become altered(corrupted?) by the films presence. I could totally see the whole Lady Thor thing without a doubt. Also, just to respond to the part where you said changing the franchise to be Bill, I don't see that either, but I can completely see the film ending with s*** hitting the fan and Bill (or lady Thor) holding the mantle then the character replacement shows up for most or all of the IW then good old Thor comes back either at the end or beginning of the next. Total speculation, but it still wouldn't rob Thor of the franchise or anything along those lines.

No, the whole point is that whoever is worthy can wield the power of Thor.

Hence, Vision is worthy.

Lifting the hammer does not equal the power of Thor. The moment Vision can throw the hammer and have it return to him or any of the other things that are considered powers, he is just merely lifting it.

They state in the movie pretty clearly that an elevator can move mjolnir and say "is the elevator worthy?" I think that is a clear statement that an android can lift the hammer but still not be worthy..

This is funny, but I like this prototype. Yes, they can do some things to make it a bit closer but I'm looking forward to getting this one, which is strange considering he was one of the things I was most worried about going into the movie.

Head sculpt reminds me of this too much

haha :joy
I really don't see Spacey but ok :lol

really?? throw purple paint on his face and BAM! Vision. it was the first person to come to mind. i have not seen the movie, so i actually checked imdb like a dip****.

it would not be any secret if spacey was in it....but yeah...its all i see. i can't un-see him now.

It looks like Bettany to me, rather it's the tech-y details/sculpt that need touching up.

Beyond those issues, I think he looks great. :)

All Bettany all the time.

so you're saying that this Bettamy guy looks like Spacey?

I know this room is a tough crowd but you can't say this guy doesn't resemble Spacey. If this was billed as a Spacey sculpt, yeah, the pitch forks would be out. But to me, since I didn't see the movie and don't have any idea who played Vision, Spacey was who popped into my head from the pool of actors swimming around in there.

who the hell is Battemy anyway. that name sounds made up to me. are you sure it isn't some pseudonym being used by Spacey to fool us?? Maybe this Betanni guy is his cousin or something.
