I've had the same problem. We might be stick with TDW version for a while.

hard to imagine me putting it up much lower, but I'd have no problem eating the price difference at this point. it's not even a bad figure, but this "curse" is making him a bad figure to me! ha

My Thor just arrived and I put him right on top of my Marvel shelf in my office.
I need to work on a better pose. I wish this came with a flight stand.
Here are some quick pics...

Nice pics, Jaymas. Congrats on the acquistion. That pose looks perfectly fine to me.

Thanks, I've tweaked it a little, but I'm liking it. I'd still love a dynamic flight stand for him though.

The instructions say that you shouldn't leave an arm bent for a long period of time, but I don't repose my figures often and I like one of his arms slightly bent. For those who have the light armor DW Thor for a while now, I wonder how much of a problem it really is to leave the arm bent? Anyone experience the paint fading on the arm because of it being bent to long like the instructions warn?

That looks awesome Jaymas :clap

Thanks. I am really happy with the figure. He completes my collection of what I believe to be Marvel's most iconic characters. I'm going to start a different shelf for some other characters.

sold my DW Thor for 150 just now & bought this guy for 207! I can eat the difference in order to finally get this guy! so excited now !

Its gotta feel good to have that completed!

It really does. It should be a good place to stop because these really are the most essential characters to me.

...BUT, I have a Iron Man Mk33 and a War Machine still in their boxes and AOU Hawkeye ordered and on my radar I am thinking I want to get Black Widow (WS version or CW version), Scarlet Witch (hopefully a CW version if they make one), AOU Vision, and hopefully they make a CW Falcon. I'm sure I'll also be tempted by the next Winter Soldier figure (or tempted to buy the old WS version), Black Panther, and Spiderman when they all come out too. So, I'm going to either have to find more shelf space or sell my Mk33, War Machine, and Hawkeye and just be happy with the group of 6 Marvel figures I have looking so good on my top two shelves.

It really is a tough call for me, because on one hand there is something really cool about a simple display with just a few figures, but on the other hand there are so many really cool figures it would be fun to have and get to appreciate up close.

Well, in the mean time, I'm just going to enjoy futzing with Thor, and perhaps keep my eye open to see if I can pick up a flight stand for him.

I haven't had this problem yet on my LA TDW Thor, but I also don't have the arms bent very much, for this very reason.

However, I have an Abigail Whistler figure from Blade Trinity that also utilizes rubber arms and for roughly the last 6-7 months, I had her in a pose where one of her arms were bent, reaching back in her quiver for an arrow. I recently did some cleaning and rearranging of my shelves and I changed the pose on her because I started to get concerned about the rubber arm being bent. I found that it left a few permanent white lines along the inside of the elbow joint from the creases where it was bent.

Congrats again on the Thor acquisition. I should be receiving AoU Thor and AoU Hulk next month, so come then, I'll have the entire Avengers team from AoU. I'm really looking forward to that.

I say if there is a character or figure you really like, make room for them! Simple displays are nice so I hear you there. Maybe you could rotate the display out every now and again? And selling is always an option of course. I've sold quite a few, which is something I thought I'd never do, but I have yet to regret letting any of them go :lol

Thanks for the info, so I guess I would be pressing my luck to leave it posed with the arm too long. That's a shame we have to worry about that. I guess that's one advantage to having armor on the arms. I just like bare armed better for the classic comic feel.

I think it's cool when people have the Avengers assembled all from one movie; I didn't go that route and instead was just getting my favorite versions of each from various movies. You'll have to post a pic of your whole team when your Thor arrives.

I have a lower shelf I think I can clear in a way that I can put more figures on in museum poses. I can probably get 6 (maybe 7) on that shelf, so we will see how it goes. And, yes, you are right I can sell them down the line. But I don't think I am ever going to sell any of these 6 figures I have now - they seem like the heart of the collection even if I expand.

Sounds like a plan! I have a few I would never sell as well.

Yeah, one of the trade offs with the rubber arms. I personally think they look a bit nicer and cleaner than plastic arms for bare armed figures, but the caveat is that you apparently have to be cognizant of how much you bend them and for how long you keep it that way.

I have all of the Avengers assembled from the A1 movie, sans Hawkeye. Though with the A1 line, I got the Bruce Banner figure to represent Hulk and got Hulk for AoU. In retrospect, I kind of wish I got the A1 Hulk because I feel the tattered pants are a better representation for Hulk. AoU Hulk will still do fine though.

The only figure I'll consider selling would be Black Widow if I got the AoU version super cheap and my OCD decided I needed to keep my entire display AoU..
