I must have V2, better dirt apps on the robe, plenty dirty, lighter skin tone, no dark green nose, less brown crease effect.

Just frizz up the hair, weather the robe and you're good to go! Seriously, I find the lack of robe weathering disturbing.

Jesus, guys. My wife caught me taking these. Anyway, here you go.







V.2 is on the left in most pics. The robe is yellower and the stitching somehow finer; the green is lighter; the holes in the robe are much smaller, and the hair is thinner and somehow frizzier straight out of the box, also a little yellower. However, on V.1 please note it didn't come out of the box with the bottom of the robe frayed, I undid the hem to make it longer. On V.1 the robe is much paler - no yellow - and the weathering is darker, like it's been rubbed on newsprint.

Hair looks better on the V2. Looks like it would frizz better. Also looks like they ran out of hessian bags and swapped to a different supplier for the robe.

P.s did the wife ask the big question......"Are they the same ?, Why do you have two ???".
Then the followup KO question : How much do they cost ?

Thanks for the comparison pics Tom. Had no idea there were two versions. Assume it'll be all V2 from here. Maybe due to the hair falling out issue.

I actually took those pics at 6.30 in the morning because it was an unbelievably humid night and I couldn't sleep. I left my wife in bed. While I was taking them my wife, who can move very quietly, walked in, said 'what the hell are you doing?' and then walked out before I had a chance to answer.

The 64,000 dollar question:
So when and where did you get the 2nd batch version? My 1st one came from Sideshow last week (honestly hard to tell which one it is); but just ordered a 2nd from an eBayer in California. Well, I can say the hair wasn't all frizzy straight out of the box. The q-tip trick worked though. But I've had no issues with any of the hair falling out what so ever.

Might have simply been the first 30-40 with the different hair. Before they changed it. Assume anything you buy now from Sideshow will be V2. They won't be shop specific or meant to be different versions of course.

The more I look at Tom Day's pics, the more they look like an amalgamation of mine. Which backs up my believe that I don't believe there is an official 2nd version. Collectibles like this are going to vary from piece to piece; especially when there's soft goods involved/weathering/intricate paint apps. BUT.....if there really is two versions and my first I received Tuesday from SSC was a V1; then it really makes me wonder what this guy in California has on hand. More V1's I suppose

Exactly! Makes logical sense. Well I'm quite sure I didn't receive one of the first 40. So being that mine's hair wasn't falling out all over the place like some of the early reviews and such, I think I'm good with my two.

Definitely prefer the HT one. For sure. When it's posed properly it looks even better

After further inspection and a little research, it appears I have the V2 head (opened eyes), V1 head (closed eyes), V2.5 robe (moderate yellowing w/medium sized wear), V1 flute necklace (cord is longest on this version) and V3 cane (the lightest of the three).
