Side by side comparisons between Sideshow and Hot Toys never cease to amaze me. I was perfectly fine with my Sideshow Yoda until I saw that video!

It’s always the same! Sideshow figures look good to pretty good. But as soon as you place the HT version next to it, you notice how much finer the details are, how much better quality the fabrication is, how much better the paints are, etc…

Still, I’m gonna stick with my Sideshow Yoda. I’m trying to keep my spending down and the character is not important enough for me to buy again and at that price. I may pick up the lantern though. Love it, even though it’s undersized.

I can't understand why SSC has just a bad paint scheme with their figures. Every single one they just keep missing the mark

I got mine yesterday and it's pretty good. I am somewhat annoyed at the brown paint on his skin but I guess it depends on the lights how much you will see it. I saw it under the kitchen lights and can't unsee it but I don't think anyone will light their figures like that. But I just don't understand what the hell it's doing there in the first place. Hair I thought seemed pretty secure, I rubbed it with my finger and it stayed on. The color of the nose is just fine to me, but I guess it might be more apparent using stronger lights.

My Yoda arrived today. He's great in hand. Articulation is good too. Quick pic straight out of box.

Great pictures! :clap

All the 1/6 Yodas have a quality or qualities about them that is better than the other, they all have their pros and cons, but I still think overall from what I've seen, the HT one is the best one available thus far.

Agree with your whole post but especially the bold. As a Yoda fan I haven't been disappointed yet with a pricey Yoda doll. I quite like having the different examples of each company.

Great pictures, I can't wait to get him. Im surprised anyones complaining about him, maybe a few inaccuracies but he's basically perfect. Its not like he's TFA Chewie.

That comparison video is great. Thanks to those who made it and posted it. Really helps to know the heads are easily swappable.

I'm still partial to medicoms yoda (in spite of my user name) but I think I'll just pop the head off my sideshow for the alternate hot toys head. I was glad to see that in the comparison video that it worked.

I don`t know the medicom body sucked as there was really no articulation besides the arms and that was all. I mod the medicom yoda head to fit onto the sideshow body.

What had to be done to accomplish that? I'm planning to use one of the HT heads on the Medicom but I'm thinking the neck joint is different.

Did you have to swap any hands to get the cane holding pose? I also like how it looks like that bird is hanging out with Yoda.

Yeah I had to swap the hands for the cane pose. They came off easy.
Thanks, that's my King Fisher. As well as 1/6 scale I have statues mainly of birds of prey. Though the king fisher would look good behind him for that shot.
