Kind of on a modding roll today and decided to take a quick look at TFA Luke.
Just did the face and the jaw shape, no modding done to the hair. I think the most important aspect that is missing in the sculpt are the upper eyelids covering parts of his irises.

No offense, but that modded sculpt doesn't even look like Mark Hamill. I prefer the original one from HT.

In addition to what you mentioned, he needs red-rimmed eyes. Luke looks worn out as you-know-what in TFA, and this sculpt/paintjob just doesn't show his tiredness.

I understand the criticisms and frankly it is par for the course on here regardless of how good he looks. The super close up shots offer a lot of details or lack there of for some to critique but I have to say that when I walked up to the case on Wednesday Preview night I literally said "Holy Sh!#, look at all this cool stuff... and look at Luke!"
In person, through glass, I thought he looked pretty damn good. And then to have the Death Star Trooper, Death Star Gunner, Power Droid, and the Droid Duo right below him along with both versions of Rey, Finn, et all. It was pretty awesome. The only thing that took me back in that case was 3PO... he looked king of "soft" or something.
I would buy this look in second if he had one freaking line in the movie. His role was almost a post-credit reveal al la Marvel so I would rather wait and see Ep. IIIV and then get that one or come back to this one if for some reason I don't like the costume as much. That being said when the production piece comes out and it looks awesome (which I certainly hope it does), I may break down. I thought he looked pretty cool.

I think the "c'mon it's Luke" works just as well as "c'mon it's Rey" Still on the fence with this one. As you said there will be other Luke figures from the ST. Han is a definite as I don't think I'll buy the spirit Han figure.

I'm not disagreeing with you guys, but I think I'll wait to see the EP VIII version or use a SSC coupon for this one

Opposite for me. Main reason why I will buy this. Want Luke in jedi robes and the rumor of him going back to all black means this may be the only time he is wearing it.
This outfit made me think of a cool evolution of old man Jedi across the trilogies. Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and then Luke. Could be done for various characters obviously.

I know what you mean. To me, I wouldn't get this Luke as a stand alone Luke figure. I would only acquire him if I was going to get the ROV Rey (which I am) to recreate the last scene in TFA (which I plan to do).
