you're given a reservation. think of it like buying a superbowl ticket or something. you get nothing but a receipt until you show up to see the game.

the point of a pre-order is to "hold" your item so you don't risk missing out on it when it comes available. if you don't like giving them your money, don't flexplay. save the money in your own account.

It's HT's probem not Sideshows. This AND OTHERS are delayed worldwide not just the US. Buyers from OSB will be getting it delayed too.

You should probably take a break from collecting. This hobby is causing you a lot of stress when it's supposed to be fun.

:exactly:

Not as bad as this thread will be when it releases and people suck the fun out by complaining about a 2% likeness discrepency or the shade of the lapels being .5764% too black :slap

It's funny to think that some people believe that SSC makes the figures themselves. They're a distributor and that's it.

How are they taking your money? You're putting down money so that they hold an item for you.

Flexpay is your own doing. If you don't want to split the payment, then don't.

Flexpay is awesome! But I understand what DrQ2 is saying. You don't have to flex pay either just pre order full amount and you won't get charge anything. Till the item ships.

say you have the funds to pay in full before the flex pay is over. can you change it or are you bound to it?

$160 is $160. spend it now. spend it later. the thing costs what it costs.

this is a luxury item. honestly ~ no one who can't afford these things should be buying them and it's nothing whatsoever like ordering a a big mac.

Don't eat Big Mac's. I was just using it as a referent point. I can afford these. An I can wait. But they have a idea on how long they take to make and should keep to it.

Ahh! I actually called to try and pay off my DX11. I was told that I couldn't change the flexpay to pay in full until the item was actually in the warehouse.

It has more to do with Calif Law then them. Company's cannot charge you for something that they don't have in stock or cannot ship out within 7 days. It's a good law.

Anyone that dislikes the delays that much should consider NOT doing a PO and just buy the figure when it comes out.

Then you won't have to worry about the delays or how your money is being used.

Just a thought

I know SSC does not make them, I also know they are the US distributor of HT. I also know its HT doing this. I also know this is HT MO. But We are not buying from HT, we are buying from SSC.

Yes they are taking our money in payments. I love Flexpay. My point is still the same. We are giving SSC a loan of our money and we are not getting % in return. Why I don't used a CC, many people do. They charge your card $160. You pay % on it, they get to use it without paying you %. If you have/get it in your hand then your getting something in return. Yes I also understand they are holding our item.

My issue is the loan part and the pushing of the dates. The price of Loki has little to do with it for me. As I said if I was to cancel it there are 10 people behind me that will buy it.

My issue is the flexpay. Leaving out the last payment they have had my money since Dec 2012. That means they have been able to use my $160 (I have to look but its two payments). This also means everyone else that has made payments being 1 or even 2. We are funding them. Before anyone say's its only $160. See it like this. How many people have made two payments (I just happen to pay a head). An what could you be doing with your $160? Remember this was to be out in Dec 2012 and its now the end of Feb 2013. Calif has laws about this.

My LCS has had my $167 since May 2012, I see no problem with it. :chillpill:

Since then, that money has already risen to $176 by PHP appreciation alone,
but hey, I'm sure when Loki arrives, someone else will be happy to snag it off my hands for $260..

Not saying I'm gonna flip it, but since you're touching on the time value of money,
I might as well make the point. :wave

Point taken. But then why don't SSC just start to charge people when it comes in stock?

Again point taken. In the US $160 today is still going to be $160 next year. Anyone that can make 30% or better off a item, I say sell it. You never know with HT when they will make a 2.0. It's not like they would do that?

Me I would have loved to PO it for $167 and saved. Sad to say I did not.

Actually $160 this year in the US = ($160)*(1+r/f)^(f*n) next year in the US

With r being interest rate, f being frequency of compounding in a year, and n being number of years your money is being held.
:lecture

..which means SSC is outsmarting you more than you know. :panic: :horror

:lol :peace :1-1:

because the point of flexpay is to pay incrementally (for those who don't have the money in hand). some people like to pay all year so that it's done when the item is released and then they don't have to watch everyone else open their toys while they are still paying it down.

don't pay in advance for something if you feel like the distributor is somehow ripping you off. it's as easy as that. you have so many options.

seriously, this is the dooziest conversation i have ever seen on these boards (and that's gotta be saying something).

Yes, that is nice and all but in order to make certain that you do not miss out and have to pay a heavy scalper's premium, you kind of DO have to preorder.

[This is in fact, why I do not preorder except for stuff that I absolutely cannot live without.]

We have a lot of HT apologists in here, and raggings about menstruation et al to the side, the fact of the matter is that HT needs to get their ducks in a row, hire some people and expand their factory[ies] and just generally act like professionals about this stuff, and that includes for figures I am not even interested in. How they do business is stupid and it sucks, and every last person in the hobby knows it.

Whether they want to admit it or not.
