If they are smart they would offer at least one figure from TDKR this year to capitalize on the movie while its still fresh in peoples minds Nick fury is out and Hawkeye is due to be released soon so Avengers is already represented but nothing from TDKR.

Since the Batman movie was released after Avengers, and since we have been shown those figures AFTER the Avengers figures, I'm thinking we most likely will not see those figures until mid to late 2013 as well.

If they were considering releasing figures while the parent film is "still fresh in people's minds" then we would be looking at more Avengers people in the fourth quarter. However they have already been delayed once and more delays are likely. I bet Batman isn't getting a special rushed release either.

You wont be seeing the Dark Knight Returns figures anytime soon, I'd bet money.

Wow! How dissapointed I am, I wanted this figure to arrive for birthday or xmas, but it is a relief for my wallet too and also I want the best quality for it, not to mention that this opens The possibility of getting another figure, so no rush, but now I feel like I just PO it and I have to wait 7 months again.

Have you ever seen the WIP images of the headsculpts getting painted?

No. But sounds interesting.

Its a very labour intensive process tailoring and sewing each figures cloths takes time unlike when the release a plastic figure

Which is also why I'm wondering what kind of work force/factory they have. Is it all hand done I take it? :dunno

Here's the behind the scenes painting of the HT Godfather figure. I think some of the more basic aspects are factory based and the rest is by hand. From what I recall in past discussions, HT breaks down the painting process and assigns people to do specific sections rather than have one person finish the figure from point A to point B. You can see variations in the paint job in the picture where all the heads are lined up.

In keeping constistant with the release cycle and considering that Batman was shown after the avengers I think you are right its unfortunate that we now have to play a guessing game which of the 5 figures in December will actually come out and which will be pushed back not to mention November which still has 3 items comming out and could possibly be delayed as well.

All this and the fact that any delays in one month cascades down to the following month so we may end up seeing all these recent release dates changing once again. Delays are expected is a labour intesive process but what Hot Toys did this year by showing all these prototypes was incredable I have not even since bigger toys companies do that.

And asuming their strategy is going to be the same we should see prototypes of the 2013 movies sometime in Q1/Q2 2013. And they still have not had the preorders up for the 2 X men , Coluson , Chitari solider , BArney ross, Catwomen and 2 Robo cop figures.

Just caved in and pre-ordered Loki :)

Then got silly and bought a Fury!

(Well, they'll go nice with the Hulk, Thor, Cap & Iron Man figures.....)

Damn you Black Widow, stop giving me the eye!!!!

All you need to Widow and Hawkeye.... I say make it complete! :exactly:

Well thankfully my Thor and Cap A are from their respective films, not the Avengers versions. Otherwise the completest in me would feel compelled to buy Hawkeye, which to be honest, is a bit "Meh" to me.

Think I'll leave it there.

Fingers in ears. Shutting eyes. Not looking at you BW!!!
