Hot Toys said the elbow joints are improved with 3 points of articulation so it can bend more than 90 degrees, so maybe saluting pose will be possible with this figure

It has to do with more of the shoulder articulation than the elbow. The Elbow can only do 90 degree since the armor from the forearm and bicep would come in touch with each other.

Yeah I know that's why I said it's more of the limited shoulder than anything. Would be nice though, be cool to see someone actually get it to work.

No kidding. looking at that picture, in that exact frame, you can tell it's the CGI suit, and the model is stretching, as well as cheating to make it work.

They may look stiff but the diecast line its supossed to have more articulation than the old IM figures
