I can po this now for €300 from my local dealer. Same price for Joker and Pred. Its a heavy load of money, but it wont be any cheaper from Sideshow. Shipping (USD 30), taxes (25%), handling fee (10%) and the new FedEX extra charge (USD 25) make it almost impossible for me to order stuff directly from SSC... Think I will be in on this one... :dunno

300 euro is alot of money mate

I think anyone offering this figure for PO already, in Europe is going to be grey importiing from the Far East.. I checked Toy Palace in Germany and they do not seem to have it listed yet.. no sign at One Sixth Bruce or Forbidden Planet(.com) here in the UK either.

LaCitedesNuages have it already for Pre-Order 289€ and 260€ for members. The 3 exclusives have the same price

New charge?.. do you know when they introduced this charge?.. last time I used that service to the UK was in April 2014 and it did not include that charge.. or is the new charge specifically to either Germany or mainland Europe?
:panic:

Hmmm.. I wonder if sometimes LCN 'multi-source' their figures.. they had Midas last year, when no-one else did.

That would be because Sideshow doesn't offer exclusives to retailers at wholesale pricing. If they want an exclusive they're paying the same price as you or me, then charging a mark-up to make a small profit.

Except Midas was Hot Toys' 2013 Summer Exclusive, and therefore technically not a Sideshow Exclusive, no?.. so I'm still not sure why Europe appeared to get stiffed on 'local' distribution of the figure.

in the EU all hot toys are alot of money that make it harder for us to get one

Thats interesting! I may have to check that!

i believe it was introduced at 1/1/14. Maybe I can find the bill... I will have a look later tonight.

All in all I really want these two guys (no interest in Pred), and I rather spend a little more and stay with my local seller. Usually it pays off. Also I enjoy catching my stuff from his appartement and have a coffee there. I really dont like the new way of colllecting (order online, get a package, be happy). Its not very personal. :lol

Hmmm.. if you have a bill from January 2014 then it sounds as though the charges are different in Germany than the UK (since I have a bill dated from April).. I don't know why that should be, since I would have expected there to be similar Fed Ex logistics to Germany and the UK.. or did you pay extra for an 'express' shipment of some kind.. or multiple figures?
:dunno

I'm definitely in for Python.. but waiting for in-hand photos from fellow Freaks, of the Joker Bank Robber v.2, before pulling the trigger ..and like you, the Predator figure is not my bag..
It is good you have a local supplier who provides a high level of service, sadly unless there is a local supplier, that is not always possible, which is a pain when it involves Neca and Funko Pop's sloppy quality control over paint application.. I occasionally get to visit a store like Forbidden Planet, or fellow collectors who are selling something from their stash of lootz.. but the interwebz is often the most practical choice for me.

That is really neat. Is the seller a collector as well or is it solely their business? Such an informal setting would be quite nice. Could open the figure and discuss the traits of it and have a conversation about the piece as you are forming the initial opinions of your purchase. Great way of collection indeed.

:goodpost:

I certainly prefer (where possible) to collect, when purchasing on the Secondary market.. not only does it remove the risk a courier will damage the parcel in transit, but you get to meet and chat to, other collectors.. which is always enjoyable.
:)
