I hope this is under $250, but prices are rising with HT. Vader ended up $300 and that doesn't come with much either. Then there's the DOFP Wolverine and John Matrix at $250. I know there are increased licensing costs with Star Wars and actor likenesses needed for XMen, so I don't know if the Avengers line is going to be affected at all. It just seems that everything is going up in price now.

StarLord was $235, which I think is the lowest this figure could possibly be placed at. Considering that was a preorder back in July last year, I wouldn't be surprised with a price increase from that. Also considering the shield is diecast, that will no doubt add an extra cost onto it.

I don't think it should be more than $250, anything over that is really an extreme price increase for these figures and doesn't bode well for bigger ones down the line.

I don't think this should be more than $230, but if that price estimate of $270 is correct in Hong Kong, and SSC prices are always more than that, then it's a good chance he could be $300.

Honestly prices are turning me off. I'm not even considering this figure but when I have Chewbacca and BD Robocop coming through the cue this year and together costing over $600!!! I think as we pay more we start to enjoy less!!

300 bucks would be ridiculous for this figure. All these inflating prices make me want to do is not PO and just wait for a sale or code. The trouble is if it happens to sell out you'll end up paying more on the secondary market in the long run.

This is exactly why I only collect figures that are of personal importance to me, I choose carefully. Not gonna collect every character from a line just for the sake of it. How long were previous Caps available? If this overpriced and people decide to wait it might not be available long.

I wouldn't have a problem spending $300 on a figure like this IF he came with a lot more accessories and dynamic base. Make it worth my while. But a display stand and a couple of fists don't justify that high of a cost. Of course though it really just my opinion. If they do Ultron with the EW head and come with nothing whatsoever, I may still buy it at a higher cost simply because I love the mold and the character.

Yea man. I really can't see this being $300. That's just insane. I can almost understand Vader being that much, but not this. Not like they need to produce a new body or anything like that, and GA Cap had dc shield and was $209. I really see this at $230.

This shouldn't be any more than Star-Lord, which a ton of accessories and they had to pay for a new face sculpt. They didn't have to pay for a new face sculpt an it has less accessories. The coat alone on Star-Lord is a really detailed piece. Then again, when greed is involved, who knows what they might do? I'm still glad I didn't get the strike version though.

But, I don't know why everyone is worried. I pre-ordered this on Animarket for like $210 USD.

300? haha, never ever. the design is put together from 2 old suits. also no new headsculpt and also the shield looks cheap to me. will he also have a magnet in his hand for the shield in the movie? unfortunately worst suit ever.

The shield clearly has a handle and also sticks with a magnet onto his arm..

I respectfully disagree. I love the design and the concept for the shield. And I don't think a new HS is necessary because this one is beautiful! IMO this is the best suit yet

Prices in Asia suggest this will retail at SS somewhere between $220-$230.

Surely a must buy in that case.

And $270 is Hot Toys Japan's price; if I'm not mistaken, HT Japan's prices are far more expensive than SS's prices.

I'd agree with that. People seem to overestimate SSC's price a lot of times. I'd be surprised if Cap's over $240.00.

Thats pretty much pushing the boundaries for a figure like this, anything higher and people will shy away from it

Doesn't seem like a good time to raise prices, either. Looks like a lot of currencies are tanking relative to the dollar. I know if I didn't already have a bunch of stuff on pre-order with NRDs, I'd be holding off. CAD is at 75% of USD, so I could see it taking a big bite out of sales this side of the border.
