Good to know, as Prime has always been my preferred of the 2 and planned final Ultorn display dollie. :duff
As I mentioned in the Ultimate Ultron thread, Ultimate's design basis is literally Prime dunked in molten metal and was refined further until we got what we got in the film. It's ridiculous how little material there is of Ultimate Ultron, whereas you can tell that a lot of love was put into designing and finalizing Ultron Prime (both from Whedon and the concept artists). :lol

The thing that bothers me most about Ultimate has always been his chipmunk cheeks. I hate 'em! :lol

I thought it was awesome in the shipyard when the discs in his cheeks retracted and you could see up into his head. Looked badass. It was the only time I noticed it happening.

I got to say the Prime version is my favorite design. Didn't care too much for the Ultimate version. Nothing too different but since Prime was in basically the whole movie I will pick him up when he is released.

probably already been discussed but is anyone going to get a throne for him to sit on like he did in the church? I think that would look really cool

I was thinking of doing this as well, though getting a good throne similar to the one in the film could be pretty tough....

Honestly, I think that's why I'll go with Prime. This is like Darth a Vader between Ep. V and VI where the details can be nitpicked, but it still looks the same damn thing to me:lol

I can't wait for this figure. He's going to have a commanding presence on the shelf. I wish HT would have first waves ready within a month after initial movie release wouldn't that be something. I saw they just finally release blog reviews for the Whiplash MKII. Nice figure, but kinda over it and all about the Ultron now.

Cool idea...that would look very commanding.

Yeah I want him holding an Iron Man helmet while sitting in an iconic pose. This fig is just too tall to fit in my case so I have to find other ways to display haha. Can't wait to see everyone's pics when this starts shipping.

It would look cool if he was holding the red eyed mk43 exclusive helmet

This thing needs a bull neck. And a meaner face. ASAP.

You are so right. Just saw it for the 2nd time and, despite previously thinking I'd wait for the "Ultimate" version, was all set to pull the trigger on ordering this if not for its pencil neck design. Is it because they want a head that will rotate? I'd rather they abandon that and give us interchangeable neck+head combos - one looking straight-on and the other twisted & looking to the side. Probably unrealistic to expect a left AND right-twisted version (i.e., 3 total), but this approach would better represent Ultron's actual movement in the movie.

One thing that they could potentially do is put the main joint at the base of the neck instead of the skull, to allow room for his neck to be sculpted bigger/thicker while keeping the articulation and LED feature intact. The hard part is basically making it all look uniform (think multiple interlocking pieces) and the fact that they'd need to redo the entire torso and head section.

I forgot about the LED feature when I suggested the interchangeable neck/head combos. I did consider the joint at the base of the neck as you've suggested, but given the intricacy of the design I think that would look unnatural when rotated.

It's most likely too late to expect a major overhaul of the design; probably the best we can hope for is that they just beef up the neck and head so they're closer to the on-screen proportions.
