I like it. None of them so far have been spot on likenesses, but still capture the flavour of Widow.

It's captured the costume, but that's never been Hot Toys Achilles heel. I agree about the likeness, as the sculptors have had a real hard time sculpting a solid ScarJo thus far.

That said, I just feel the first Avengers had, and still has the best overall balance.

This version much like the Winter Solider version is only really notable for the costume and perhaps the extras. The Avengers 1 version, had the suit, which I still love and a more importantly a pretty solid, not-overly dead eyed and inexpressive sculpt which killed the WS BW and has helped to kill this one too along with the hair.

I don't yet know the price, but I imagine it will be about £150 or maybe a little more which I wouldn't be happy with parting knowing it's basically going to arrive looking that the prototype shown in the budget stark YT video.

I'm pretty sure this will make me hold off for Civil War or Infinity Wars though. I'll debate for a little while longer, but that's the one advantage with these figures...always more attempts in the future (at least for another few movies!)

I can't see there being any improvement's going forward in terms of the sculpts. It seems to me they think they found the butter zone in the WS variant and say what you will about time, paint etcetera that goes into these re-uses; they have still yet to improve upon the big issue (for me) which is the 'dead eyes'. I mean even if they insist on those sculpts, I'd like to see at least one other sculpt with an expression and some sign of life.

That's why I prefer my Avengers 1 version, while it may not be 100%, the sculpt isn't overly /dead/. You see some WS BW in action poses which look daft as the expression is so damn bleak lol.

*Sigh* As you say, maybe for Avengers 3...

This is more than $20.00 over the Winter Soldier figure. I guess they are charging more because she comes with a pair of big guns.

They're close to it! I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more come in at $199.99, with minimal accessories and such (mainly female, but those are few and far between now, so that could just be the end)...but yeah, we're basically looking at a $220-240 average in most cases it seems.

I think they're really reaching the sweet spot in terms of pricing though, so hopefully it'll stay put for a while. Captain America for $225 seems like a good deal still, as would future figures in that range. There's still entire Justice League figures to come, as well as future Marvel films, but if they keep jumping up so quickly and start hitting upwards of $300, they'll price out a lot of people instead of making a lot more money.

I'd say they'll almost definitely have a new sculpt for Civil War, and possibly even Infinite Wars (depending on how the Civil War sculpt turns out, as they may just repaint that one at that time) as I don't see them re-using this sculpt a third time. They do want people to pick up multiples of Widow if they want, and a lot would be less inclined to have a third identical head. Whether or not they improve on it, only time will tell.

I do know that it took a lot of Stark's to get it right! I picked up The Mechanic, as I feel it's a spot on Downey Jr./Stark figure, but I saw quite a few "off" ones before that one came to be.
