Um, he is best known for his graphic novels such asDaredevil: Born Again, The Dark Knight Returns, Sin City and of course 300.
Basically the movie in question "The Spirit", he thought he could easily replicate Robert Rodriguez (From Dusk Till Dawn ~ Sin City), only to find it's not as easy as it looks.
He just needs to stick to novels and forget about directing

Well, Uwe is the king of Uwe, but Frank Miller is a good runner-up for the Uwe Boll award, which Uwe seems to get every year

I watched both Xeno's and Shartimus's reviews and I can't hate this figure. Not thrilled about the hair but overall I'm digging it. But watching Shartimus abuse her was rough. When did he start getting all Sean Long and manhandling these things?? That's one thing that goes right through me; watching some of these guys beat the snot out of their $200+ figures
I actually appreciated the articulation tests that Shartimus did. I was flipping between his reviews on this and the TWS Widow, and it was a similar level of "manhandling" in both videos.
Anyways, I've been on the fence between the AoU and WS Widow for a while, and now I'm back to leaning towards this version. I like that TWS has a more comic-faithful outfit, but I really like the blue AoU suit effects (the videos have been capturing them quite well). Either way, I still like the first Avengers head sculpt (seems like everyone else does too), though I also think the AoU head can look good with some proper hair-styling (not just futzing).

In terms of paint application and over all quality - Yes.
In terms of accuracy to the actress and character - No.
WS BW - Dead eye stare killed it, killed it dead. Very skinny body also a fact to consider when listing cons.
AoU - Almost identical sculpt (from what I have seen so far) to WS, natural hair - which IS a disaster and a disappointing (again) liefless expression which makes action poses almost impossible.
At least with the Avengers sculpt (which don't get me wrong, is far from perfect, but very much is still on par all things considered with the later /attempts/), has a slight grin which reduces that slightly creepy doll effect.
So, given the time elapsed and that there have been two additional MCU BW appearances since A1, I don't think Hot Toys should be patted on the back for putting out these BW's which are still pretty mediocre and hindered/crippled by the sculpt and have not improved vastly (IMHO) on the A1 version.
I'll reserve final judgment until in she's in-hand, but it seem abundantly clear to me that the main positives about this figure are the suit, which has better articulation over the WS and maybe A1 in addition to the accessories.
- As with the WS, the sculpt will split opinion, and it is mine that the AoU (indeed even WS) sculpt in no way outshines the A1, it merely has a better paint application which is to be expected with more modern figures.

Indeed.
I loved the trailer. I was listening to Hybrid a lot around that time, so when they used choke it really got me pumped to watch the movie as it worked so well with the teaser.
The sad thing is it HAD potential, it just needed a better director and some screenplay adjustments.

The greatest difference between non-pleather material of the suits.... AoU's stretches, TWS's doesn't.

I agree with wholeheartedly with the bolded part, but I'll disagree with you (slightly) on the head sculpt. I actually think the WS/AoU head sculpt is a closer (but not perfect) likeness to the actress; the eyes kill it, but I think it looks more like Scarlett than the first Avengers version does. It is hard to put in good action poses, but I do recall a few pictures of the WS version where it didn't look terrible (I hesitate to say good) in the eyes. A lot of it is angles and lighting. While I don't share the opinion, I can see how people like the new head sculpt more. If someone were to repaint the WS/AoU eyes, I think most people would find it to be an overall improvement over the first Avengers head (yourself included?). The face needs to be a bit fuller in the cheeks, but all the Widow heads suffer from that.
I just prefer the first Avengers head sculpt because it has a bit more life to it (and is a bit prettier, for lack of a better term), and I like the shorter hair style. I'm also not a big fan of Scarlett, so I don't mind the lack of likeness compared to the newer sculpts. [I'm fully aware I'm in the minority on that last point]
