:lol :lol... but a good point :lecture

I completely agree... I think both are very good sculpts, but the youthfulness of the Sideshow sculpt puts it over the top. I actually think if you swapped them that the HT would work great for a X-Wing figure and the Sideshow works better for Farmboy. But, sadly the Sideshow head is unlikely to survive production so it's a moot point.

It will be funny if the HT figure with a crap-ton of accessories comes in less than the $240 X-Wing figure that went up for pre-order months ago. And I'm pretty confident that will be the case.

I will pre-order the exclusive... if it's true that HT is scaling back the ES I don't want to miss out on the extra here. And at least with McFly the exclusive sold out very early and I don't think has ever come back as an option to buy, only a waitlist. And you can't use a coupon code for the waitlist.

I agree! Crazy, isn't it?

..........I've always disliked my SS farmboy Luke, so, this will probably be a yes for me. ANH Luke is sort of a grail piece for me.

Looks pretty darn good. I really want to PO it, but I have DX07 and I'm waiting for them to do Jedi Knight Luke. I could use my RP's on this, but ugh! Decisions!

Wow - just saw this up now!!!

Petty solid set, but it's not 100%, sure. The eyebrows change the eyes dramatically, the way they're painted almost all the way into the bridge of the nose. Hair too dark, relaxed hands are funny, yada yada..

Still looks pretty damn good.

This will be such an awesome bookend figure next to the eventual TFA Luke.

Damn, this was the last section I checked in my usual morning routine of reading the forum, since it seems like there's never anything new! Knew we wouldn't have to wait for SDCC! ;) Figure looks fantastic, IMO, and a definite day one purchase (must agree with galacti that it'd suck if it surprise sold out and I missed it in the hopes of saving a lousy $20).

In regards to the nitpicks, one thing I'm somewhat surprised to keep reading is the ESB lightsabre hilt thing... I don't want to be dismissive, but can someone explain why they would care? Yes, it's a neat bit of fan trivia but no normal person watching the movie would be aware of the greeble placements and story wise, it's the same sabre! It's not 'supposed' to be different from Ep III to VI, so at least in my books, I'm happy if they re-use the Bespin one.

Yep as a lifelong SW fan I never knew until today that the saber Luke wields in ANH and ESB is actually different for each film. :lol

So yeah, I definitely couldn't care less which one this figure gets.

re: saber. I don't care so much about it being the same or different prop, more about the scale being off on the older Bespin release and hoping that with a premiere line like this they wouldn't be recycling important/significant parts. Even SSC produces new sabers.

So the prop was different, who cares? The point is, Luke had one hilt. It was his fathers and there was no backup.

Anyone else notice the hook on the belt missing in some photos? And anyone else ever wonder what he previously used that hook for before getting the saber? It's always seemed a little ill-thought from a practicality perspective not to have a holster for the saber, IMO.

I've always hated those stupid "relaxed" hands HT has. At least the one with this release. They have two different designs for relaxed hands and the other ones are better. Hair definitely too dark. I like this more than Han or Ben. I think I like it even more than the DX07. LOVE the desert gear look. I dig the Red Five Sideshow sculpt but I feel it will come out ridiculous looking with that horrible eye plate SSC keeps using nowadays. I really wish they'd get rid of that ****. It's like the early days of PERS all over again. [emoji38]

Red 5 won't have those eyes. They're being abandoned for now, and hopefully forever.

Strange because when I saw the prototype at Celebration they eyes were that abs crap.

Just Googled to find the source of the news, as I couldn't remember where I'd read it:

King Darkness said:
At least the separate eye system won't be involved. According to Mat Bischoff, the separate eye system will not be used on Luke.

King Darkness said:
Luke will be a solid sculpt and future release may or may not have the separate eye system if they can get better results in production. That's long and short of it.

It's funny that some people will criticize the sculpt down the pore but be ok with lightsabers not being accurate. It bugs me knowing the lightsabers aren't matching. How can some be fans enough to spend over $200 on figures but fan enough to know the differences in each characters' wardrobe/weapons?

Just a general question I guess. I'm a die hard and may not know ever detail down to the stitching but I know the differences in costumes and weaponry.
