They look shockingly the same to me.

Do you have a better comparison picture?

I can post one tonight but having them both in hand SS's looks more on the tan side and HT's is more on the white side. I like the slightly darker, more tan look of SS's myself.

Wow, that Luke has a Mick Jagger vibe to it...

There definitely seems to be more of a creamy beige in the movie than either of these figures have--they both look more like what we saw in the promo shots. Could all come down to lighting, I suppose.

I'm sure there were a few different outfit parts that weren't necessarily all consistent shades of tan/cream/gray. Personally I think both colors are off. I'm making mine more "yellow-ish". Kinda Kenner, but I'm using a few shots like this to back up my change.

I do like how the Sideshow Luke had actual leg wrappings rather than a sculpted boot.

Okay, I e-mailed Sideshow to see if it's possible to pay off the Flexpay early. I can't wait for this guy!!!

Will you let us know if they respond? I am curious to do this as well.

THAT is just horrid VHS color timing right there. You gonna add the magenta splotches too?

Not quite. But I'm making him a yellow lightsaber to switch out to also. Why? I say "why not?" I like being different.

I actually watched the bluray (blah) and Harmy's, and I really do see more yellow/tan than gray/white, at least in most of the Tatooine scenes. I'm sure that can all be chalked up to lighting on some level, but I'm a Han's coat is blue guy, so what do I know.

I'll give the Transom mod a whirl if you want one. Just send me some info regarding how accurate and detailed you were thinking it needed to be.

Ok, cool. Problem is I have no ref grabs.

Can anyone provide screen grabs of the transom scene with Luke and Lei, specifically the closed doors b.g. and jutting platform they were on?

Just got my Luke, Opened him up fast as I have to leave in an hour. Here is a quick comparison shot with the SideShow Luke. First impressions, the HT Luke Garb hangs better and is smaller than SS. SS hat is larger, more floppy and the goggles are smaller but with a longer elastic band. HT Luke has a long neck. The HT's rifle barrel is longer but the stock is smaller. SS rifle has a longer, skinnier spring. I like the SS pants better as they are a little more baggy. I also like SS' cloth leg wrappings better than HT's plastic wrap. Picture is with a direct flash, nothing fancy.

Oy. I feel neither one looks particularly good. Both look rather Hasbro-ish. Not so sure the Hot Toys one is a big step up in quality other than the HS. Looks like I'll be Frankensteining the two together.

This is an amazing figure. Just got him today and it's an eye pleaser. Also, been collecting 1/6 since October and that's my collection so far. It's addicting.

The sculpt on the SS one almost resembles more that of Kevin Bacon, in that image at least.

Great images, KD! Nice SW set-up.
