Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

True, but the Mark XLIII was essentially a repaint and this is a brand-new sculpt. I'd advise either waiting for a sale or a coupon. Or throwing RPs at it. It should still be around months after release.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

I am a bit turned off by the lack of BD parts. I am actually more interested in this than MK I but the price and lack of accessories is making me think again as well...

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

The only way I get this is if I really like the 46. But geez if this is $345, that puts the 46 at I'm assuming very close to $400, not even including tax and shipping. That's pretty much a brand new ps4.

Put into that context I may need to rethink how much I really like these figures...

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

Only this forum can complain so much about the price of something that's the furthest from anything resembling a necessity.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

Not a surprising price, but I'm saving all my RP to drive the price down on the DC MkI War Machine right now. I'll probably snag this once it starts shipping.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

This is getting out of hand, price-wise. I had a hard time justifying it to myself when they were 250. 350? No. I love the diecast, think it's awesome and I'm really happy someone's doing these toys. Than again, I'ld probably pay 350 for the Lone Ranger...

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

Well, you can pick up Tonto these days for about the price of a greasy fart...

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

Well honestly with this being diecast and all the 345$ isn't surprising. Though I have to remind u guys that SSC does these markup prices not HT. HT figures in asian currency usually go for less than what we pay. Blame sideshow for this price i say. I do have to agree about these not selling well, i mean at 345$ most people just wont pay that. This has become an expensive ass hobby now and if they want to continue making profits they need to keep these prices in check and stop trying to be greedy.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

Paid full price for AoU WM. Regret it and if I do decide to grab this figure I'm definitely waiting for a discount. $345 may not be a surprise, but it's still a lot of money.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

Oh yeah 345 for this is too much, diecast or not. It hardly has any extras, the hs recycled, wm is not as popular as iron man is i think. I like it but i cant help but feel as though this suit should have been in AoU. If not for the mk1 2.0 i would get this, but right now i just dont know. I know i am not passing up the mk1 again and i dont really need 2 war machines either.

The CW MK46 is supposed to be $385 before it even gets to SSC so it's not entirely their fault. Sure it will probably be $400+ when SS puts it up for PO but they have to make profit to pay employees, bills, etc. Sucks because i really like HT IM but it's hard to justify spending so much on one figure. Not sure if i will pick this one up or not, no rush have a year to decide.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

Yeah well usually in the past hasn't ssc charged significantly more the the hkd price?

They don't charge significantly more now. The amount they charge (how much is shipping from Hong Kong?) is set (the max) by hot toys. It's contractual. There's a certain percentage based on several factors. But sideshow does not determine the price.

Feel free to order from Hong Kong and see if it's any cheaper. Has nothing to do with "greed". If that was the case they could charge significantly more.

And when you return a figure or request a replacement or cancel a PO that sideshow has already committed to buy from hot toys who eats that price? When some fool breaks a hulk both in the arms and legs and claims it came that way (if you don't think it happens go look thru the Aou thread. I had that conversation where a guy thought he broke his. Got a replacement and turns out it wasn't even broke) or wasn't his fault and ssc has to send an entire new figure for free...where do you think that cushion comes from?

They can afford to survive the bad becuase they make a profit on the good deals.

Everyone calls these company's greedy, while they are spending 200-400 dollars in toys when there are people in the world starving to death. The company is at least providing a living for people. And no one volunteers to send extra money or pay more when a product flops. I don't see people retiring their pay checks when a major Corp posts a loss. For a few years ford, Chevy, gm, Sears, Kmart, Applebee's, Olive Garden, and hundreds more posted losses in quarters of billions of dollars. But the employees didn't offer to take a pay cut. Hell the auto workers where asking for more money. Stop it with this greed crap. People are greedy. A company is not. And when you spend hundreds of dollars on a toy you have zero right to call the company selling them greedy. Non sense.

When you take the direct price of about 300usd the sideshow price is not even 20% more. Then when you factor in the rewards, or the 20 dollar coupon that most people use its under 10% more. Yeah, supppeeeer greedy.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

this war machine is just awesome, very streamlined and muscular. and the paint looks very metallic!
someone complaint that it comes with too little accessories, but its ok for me as i dont play too much
with accessories. though a diorama stand instead of a standard one would have been much better.
the battle damaged chest armor is very well sculpted, very authentic. looks like its in diecast as well!

i just wondering if it was a spoiler, had war machine's arc reactor been taken out by other avenger?!

Who the hell on cap's team would have the power to put a tear like that in the suit though?

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

Not condemning SS or HT for being greedy. They have a great product everyone wants. God bless.

My point is that i think theyve hit the wall on what people are willing to pay for their products. It's like going to a concert and paying $8 for a 12 oz bottle of water. Next time it's $10. Typically, the higher you raise the price, the fewer people will buy your priduct.

And at some point consumers decide to do without rather than spend their money. Especially when theres a good chance the item will get discounted over time for a variety of reasons. Also consider that there are multiple versions of the item already available (and also not selling, ie the "exclusive" mark ii WM).

I think ive hit the wall on price. I already have other war machines. For ~$360 shipped, i can do without another.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

So nobody else cares that the color of this is off? I'm sure it will be closer to movie accurate by the time we see it but in the all promo art and in the trailer the dark parts of his armor are closer to matte black than blueish gunmetal grey... Even the description says the armor is Black and Silver.
