Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

This price point makes me feel a tiny bit better about opting for the DC Mk1 instead.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

I haven't purchased a figure in a very long time either. The reason I'm PO'ing this guy is because I don't have to pay for it until 2017. Pricing is definitely up there.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

That's not exactly an accurate comparison. The 130 or whatever for old figures. Iron man was never that cheap. So the 350 iron man shouldn't be compared to a 130 dollar hawkeye or whatever. The original mk3 bd was 195, so basically 200. Yes 350 is a big jump. But 7 years, new materials added items, improved (immensely) everything...it happens. As the company grows margins have to grow or the company goes away. It's business 101. And the licensing cost has gone up as well.

For a fair comparison to that old iron man mk3 look at the iron legion. Same material. Nearly same size. And shocker, the shipping in 2016 iron legion cost no more then the 7 year old iron man mk3bd.

Or the 150 dollar Thor 1 to the 220 dollar Aou Thor, that's light years better.

I'm not saying prices have not gone up, or that these are cheap in any way. But when a 12 inch version of a 1982 gi Joe costs 120 dollars....a 220 dollar (the average cost of human or normal sized figures is 220) hot toy isn't that much of a stretch. The retail price of everything has gone up. Back when hot toys was selling 130 dollar figures the retail cost of 6 inch marvel figures was like 8 bucks. It's 20 now. Motuc was 20 a pop with 7 dollar shipping.(27 each to my door) now it's 42.50 for each figure. And they have in fact mostly gotten worse (less accessory, less paint) and they are still mostly a reused tooling product. So cost should actually go down. And if you read their reasons for increased prices for years it was the price of oil. But shocker, when oil fell to 40% less then the day they started prices didn't go down. Lol it's business.

The other side of business is that at some point it costs too much and people say I'm not buying this. How HT or SS arrives or justifies the price point no longer matters.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

I can't believe we're almost half way through the 300s already. the reveal of MMS200 Superman feels like it was less than a year ago.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

The price is congruent to what the DC Marks have been lately, so it's not a real shocker, but I agree for all of them that it's a high price, regardless which figure it is. Hell I even think Hill was way over priced.

It's not screen accurate and that's No.1 for me.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

He's the same price a mk43 was yet people bought him easy enough (Myself included).

the 43 comes with a diorama and a battle damaged ultron mark i.
while this one just come with a standard, most basic stand!

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

Its actually nicer than the standard round stands. The dio stands take up more room too. But yeah that stand ultron piece was a nice extra.

Considering you've never seen the movie, which is in fact not even finished that's a pretty silly statement. But yeah, I'm sure you know more then people who have access to the digits files from marvel.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - D00 - CA: Civil War - War Machine Mark 3

Again....this is the reason people sell there IM collection to get the Avengers collection, the Avengers collection is way more controlled then this is.

And the IM suit for Civil War is $189 this thins is $344

Marvel Iron Man Mark XLVI Sixth Scale Figure by Hot Toys | Sideshow Collectibles

No, it's not. The suit for this film is 385. The pps is 189. Different thing. And the "avengers" collection includes 400 dollar ultron, 1000 dollar hulkbuster, and 15 other figures that the cheapest is 200(iron legion)

Could he be talking about the missing/incorrect military decals?

Some concerns around the color of the armor and the lack of red for light up in the eyes and chest come to mind.

This thing isn't scheduled until like the end of next year so plenty of time for changes.
