From the promo pics, how do people thimk the leg articulation will work? Pull down joints like the diecast WM MK1 (outstanding articulation on him) or the butt button like the 45 and a bunch of other suits? I'd be super excited if it was the pull down joint becuz that's a way better design to me. You can have one leg extended with greated range while the other isn't and that just makes for more versatile posing. What do others think though?

I totally agree. I was really happy to see the pull down legs on the diecast war machine mk 1.. I too prefer the range that the pull downs give you over the button which I've only ever used for the landing pose.

Also, I think the diecast mk 1 does a great job with the landing pose. The articulation in the torso is nice and the head/neck articulation is fantastic.

I actually never even tried the pull down leg feature on the WM.
I just hope the VI has ankle articulation. From the proto pics it looks a bit iffy...I love my MK3 and don't mind the lack of an articulation. But the ankle articulation really is a hassle.

Hope this figure makes it to Toy Soul. I need a new set of pictures for this year long wait.

Yes they are different. They do have a big display at tokyo this weekend which they don't usually

Motux (and anyone else :wave), what's your opinion on the hip articulation? Obviously it's pretty much impossible to tell at this point, but Im pretty curious as to how they'll make the hips- button drop down or pull down. After recently getting the dc Warmachine Mk1 and being impressed with the type of articulation used not just in the hips but all around, I think it's going to spoil me for future diecast releases.

Since we haven't seen this figure anywhere else but the preorder pics, I was looking back at them to see if it's possible to determine what kind of articulation we might expect from the figure. Its hard to tell lol. But my fingers are crossed that we get the pull down legs and not the drop down butt-on. Shoulder armor that can be moved down on a hinge (like the new warmachine mk1) would be nice too but I feel like that's getting to be wishful thinking :dunno

what do you think?

Yeah it's pretty hard to tell at this point but my guess is that it will be like the mk45 1/4. Having both the button and pull down. This is, from what I have heard, supposed to be the top of the line best iron man figure. A couple of the designers at hot toys have the mk6 as their favorite suit so I expect it to be the best figure yet at 1/6. Just my guess though.

From the pics it looks like they have the button but also the gold thigh section extends down to increase the range of motion.

With the shoulders I think the 1/4 45 is the gold standard as well. With ball joint on the pads with a secondary gap cover piece under that. But whatever they do I expect this figure to be the best figure yet, engineering wise. Usually how they do it. And as I said this is an armor a lot of the hot toys folks really like.

Well they didn't photograph a landing pose in the prototype pictures so I'd say from that alone, no butt-button and instead pull down legs if at all. Remember the diecast Mk. III was missing the extending ankles, pull out shoulder barrels, and was generally less poseable then its plastic Mk. III brothers. I sincerely doubt, especially at the price, that HT will not include the features missing from the diecast Mk. III.

In the picture that shows the Mk. VI hovering above Loki, it does look like his right leg is pulled down some. Just another quick example of what you're hoping for.

Thanks for the feedback you two :)

No doubt this figure will be great. I have high expectations after the new Warmachine (FoY candidate for sure)

I'm gonna ask a question that's probably ridiculous (but I'm newer so whatever):

Is there actually a figure of the year?

Lol. I've seen it mentioned in multiple threads (namely dc WM Mk1 and BvS Batman as of late) and always wondered if this is just a title individuals give for what they believe to be the best figure of the year or if there was literally some type of award handed out by SS or distributors or whatever.

Only 12ish more months before we maybe have this in hand so they could (and probably will) do some cool new and improved things we have not seen before.

It's a title individuals give. There is no official "figure of the year". That's just ridiculous.

The DC mk3 was not less articulated then the plastic mk3. The plastic didn't have the ab articulation or better shoulders or better legs. I think one or both may have had ball joint ankles but so does the DC. It's just limited on the DC due to design of the legs and how the DC doesn't have the expansions in the legs like the plastic.

As for them not having a landing pose in the pictures...it's a prototype. Well over a year from being out when taken. And it doesn't mean much even it was released the same day. Outside of like Igor every single normal sized iron man can do the landing pose so they don't need to show it every time. When it comes to articulation the promo pictures are at best a guide but mostly irrelevant.

Nice. I got curious and wondered "who would even decide or vote on something like that?" :lol
