Its too much according to whom?
This seems more like your personal view based on your own wallet lol.

Hot Toys is releasing figures since it is their business to do so.
For you to tell them otherwise is a bit much..
I'm not telling them to do anything
I agree.

It'd be different to me if they kept releasing the same figure over and over again only with a slight difference here and there.. But that's not the case. Everything they're doing is appealing to the collectors of each franchise.

I mainly collect iron man, house party armors, and villains.. I'd really hate it if I had to wait even longer between releases because they're pushing out figures from different franchises.

I'll agree that it's tough for people who collect everything to keep up with releases.. But that doesn't mean it's over saturated.

This I'll agree with. If you have a certain theme it's great cause they spread those HPP suits out.

In my case, I like having a broader collection so that's why I'm feeling all the lines build up

If you guys can keep up with buying 3 figures a month and Iron Man every 2 and another version of an Avenger every year, all the power too you.

Well, for me, I just buy what I like. I only keep one representation of the character though Iron Man and War Machine are big exceptions.
I'm pretty particular with what I buy since I do have other expenses and obligations (mortgage/rent) to pay for.

In the end, just gotta be smart about it, budget and buy what you like.

In that I totally agree with you.

I guess from my point of view, when I first started collecting, it was easy to space out money and get the figures I've wanted. But now since HTs has increased production brought in new licenses, it's hard to keep up.

I still think it's over saturated due to the rereleases of some Iron Man figures, even though this piece is nice and I'm gonna get it eventually, this'll be the 5th? version of the Mark 6 HTs put out since Iron Man 2.

Yeah I mean I don't care too much about their release schedule or how many they release. It is a healthy business meeting a demand. Haha I never thought I'd be interested in yet another Iron Man...but HT does such a great job with them. I'm happy to get this piece. 7 Iron Mans! [emoji857]

I'm also very particular at this point. I knew what I wanted from my collection and I have that pretty much now...just a matter of whether I am urged by re-dos of what I already have.

Iron man/War Machine wasn't something I wanted a lot of...but I am constantly impressed by what I get so I've kind of set aside some other potential buys and bought prob 4 more IM than I wanted initially haha. But these are great products, great engineering and have amazing head sculpts for the ones that do. I can't wait to see more of the Mark VI, see how the new head sculpt turns out.

I really wish they would've chosen to do a full headsculpt instead of a helmeted one just so we could have a nice RDJ Avengers movie representation. The Mk7 facial expression just doesn't fit with him at any point when he was wearing that armor. And the Mk6 promo sculpt was a re-used IM2 Mk4 sculpt.

I know it's being nitpicky, especially since we're getting such an amazing figure as is. Just can't help but want an Avengers sculpt with the improved sculpting and paint apps (that the newer headsculpts have to offer) to go along with what's otherwise everything I ever wanted from a DC Mk6 release.

I wouldn't want full headsculpt instead of a helmeted one, but I would love to see both. Maybe they will do a new full headsculpt when they get around to doing a diecast vii.

I hear you. Just my preference really. That would definitely be awesome if they included both lol.

Two of those releases where extremely limited and the business turns over customers at a high clip. Same as any collectible company. Estimates from most places is 40-70% of all customers are turned over every 3 years. So if your best selling product is iron man, and one of his best selling versions is the mk6 and you get nearly an entirely new customer base every few years it's smart to be the one selling them products and it not being some eBay guy making the money off your work. Throw in the large growth since 2010 as another factor. A huge portion of the customers (or potential customers) didn't have a chance to get the previous releases. And when this went up for sale most didn't have the chance to get the reissue either, which was just a store exclusive that they are selling dead stock of now.

The V5 from OSK looks great to me and adding a collar will make it basically perfect In my opinion.
And only $30!

this is true, I see the head that hot toys gave us with the MK 7 as the expression when Pepper is whispering into his ear his incentives for joining the avengers in towards the beginning :rotfl

I won't be able to un-see that image in my head now whenever I see that sculpt lol.

Kind of funny with this figure. All of the battle damaged parts are IM2...the only thing unique to Avengers is the base and tbh I'd rather a WM-Esque base with the MK6. Maybe I'll order one.

Right now I have whiplash using the mark 45 base.. So, maybe I'll give whiplash's base to the 6.. But I also absolutely love the base that it comes with.

The battle damage is more toward the IM2 side, but the clean look, lighting, and weapons are more toward The Avengers. Plus, the exclusive also comes with the blue trim lighted helmet. If you get the OSK Tony Stark head, you now have that as a posing option as well, bare head just prior to donning the helmet. I'd like someone to do a diorama of the storage crate containing the suit while aboard the helicarrier.

I didn't realize it either until after the figure came and gone. I didn't really like that look either, but would have gotten it if I paid more attention that those parts were detachable. Here is a pic without the shoulder parts, thigh parts, and rib panels I found googling for images...

If I owned the figure, that may be how I would display it, though without the battle damage chest piece.

If I wanted battle damage I would want the battle damaged figure, that looks awesome (again without the shoulders and thigh armor and rib plates...

I really like the battle damage one, wish I hadn't missed it.

I prefer the look when it has the shoulder and thigh attachments. I have both the regular and battle damaged mark 7s and would never display them like this.

At the time when this came out I didn't have an Iron Man figure and I was looking for something that reminded me of the classic comic. If I had paid attention and knew those parts were detachable I would have gotten it. Since then the diecast MkIII came out and that one filled that need for me. I do like the options on the MKvii and if they ever do a diecast of it I hope they include all those options. I'm sure if I had the figure now I would mix it up time to time, sometimes with the shoulder and thigh attachments and sometimes without.

I've been trying to score an OG Mark 6 base to go with the it-will-get-here-one-day DC Mark 6 so all the buds can have matching bases. The hunt continues. :gun

Well... You could always try making your own lol. You sure have enough time to try lol.
