Who cares? Does everything have to be considered "racist" or a racial debate these days?

It seems like in the past couple years, we've only taken a giant step backwards in a debate that for all intents and purposes was settled by now.

My thoughts exactly. At least Vader and the stormtrooper variants are a safe bet... I say the stormie variants are safe because they have never been anything other than looks and cannon fodder lol.

Is it not racial stereotyping to have the Chinese actor in the film be a martial arts specialist? he even dresses a bit like he's come straight out of a kung fu flick. I dont remember Finn pulling out a basketball halfway through TFA.

He did pull out Luke's training bot. Though he did not spin it on his finger

Yeah, of all the characters, this Chirrut guy really sticks out as much too Earth-bound for Star Wars. They could have at least mixed him up with some other time periods and styles like they used to do -- maybe mix in some Zulu warrior and American Indian Apache bits with the obvious Asian tribute.

Disney are making it too easy to dismiss these films. First ducktroopers; now parked Landspeeder chasing troopers on top of some silly out of place Asian martial arts homage.
