“Stark made me some new dancing shoes. What do you think?” – Steve Rogers

Who does Peggy Carter call in for backup when she needs it? Steve Rogers, of course. In this universe, Peggy Carter jumps into the action with a number of familiar faces, but even she might need some help defeating the enemy. Calling in air support, she certainly doesn’t expect Steve to come swooping in – in a Hydra Stomper suit.

Inspired by Marvel Studios’ What If…? animation series, Hot Toys is thrilled to bring The Hydra Stomper and Steve Rogers as 1/6th scale Collectible Set to recreate some awesome fight scenes.

Captured Hydra Stomper’s appearance in What If…? animation series, the 1/6th scale figure is complemented with perfectly scaled design, outstanding painting applications, also mechanical details such as thrusters, shooters, and an opening cockpit. Measuring at approximated 56cm in height, it features LED Light-up designs on the eyes, and arc reactor; semi-articulated body with the ability to perform head, shoulder, arms, wrist and waist movements.

Meticulously crafted based on his latest appearance in What If…? animation series, Steve Rogers 1/6th scale figure features a newly developed head sculpt and hair sculpture with remarkable likeness, finely tailored outfit, a backpack, a selection of interchangeable hands, and a display base.

Expand your What If…? collection with The Hydra Stomper and Steve Rogers collectible set!

BIG thing to look out for on the Stomper. Looks like it's more of a semi Power-Pose figure than a full on figure.

The legs will have super limited articulation on them. :cuckoo:

"semi-articulated body with the ability to perform head, shoulder, arms, wrist and waist movements."

China likes their mechs - Gundam and other various mediums.
This. Guarantee you that this sells relatively well, especially in Hong Kong. Honestly, it's probably going to outsell Captain Carter by a fair margin.

So they opt out the legs argiculations to avoid the cracking problem Iron Monger had? But I do see slight articulation to the knee and legs.
I was hoping they would release Steve seperately as well.

To each their own, but it's nice to see Hot Toys try something different. I for one think it's one of the coolest things they've done in a while, and matches the animation style of the series. Kudos to them for taking a risk. I've reposed my Iron Monger and Hulkbuster exactly once since I've owned them, so am all for a trade off of price and durability to lose a little articulation.

Yeah I love when they tackle 3D stylized figures at 1/6 scale. It's why I love the Spider-Verse figures and Sideshow's Clone Wars figure.

It's neat seeing them tackle something different compared to everything being realistic all the time. I would love to see a stylized Dr Strange from the What If series.

Surely they must be under contract to do stuff like this.

I mean it's cool, but who is going to shell out over $500 ??

They passed on so many great characters and then confidently throw out this for $600+ When it got like all of 10 minutes of air time on probably the most boring episode of What If

Man, I keep forgetting that these threads are virtually nothing but people complaining these days.

I love that HT is doing these stylized figures. I think this looks great.

And people constantly complaining about the prices of these figures may need to start looking for a new hobby. The cost of supplies and goods has been increasing across the board. This is the new reality of things.

Good for whoever wants this. One thing about being a collector is realizing not everything is for you and that’s ok.

However… I do question the need for Hot Toys to be the company that makes these. They make the best life-like sculpts. There are half a dozen other high end companies that can pull off a convincing cartoon sculpt, just as the SS Clone Wars figures proves. Although as the SS Grievous shows, if another company made the armor, it might not be able to stand on its own.

It is a little frustrating that Disney seems to be making sure every single show from D+ is represented by Hot Toys. I would rather they skipped the cartoons and backfilled other characters. I’m even a fan of the Bad Batch, but would rather see more representations of other live action actors. Those releases are also the only Star Wars Hot Toys I don’t have under pre-order, because I can’t be bothered if it isn’t the whole squad - again a victim of too much being asked of Hot Toys.

It is looking increasingly likely we won’t be getting Zemo or Red Guardian, but we get What If cartoons. I buy 1/6 scale collectibles partly for convincing sculpts of actors I like. Sure, Zemo will probably get another chance in whatever Thunderbolts thing they are building towards. But I am annoyed that I am missing out on David Harbour as Red.

But… congrats if this is your thing. I just really hope there are people out there that this is the one thing that makes them wildly happy.
