He's a badass character, just not in the hands of George. Watch the scene below. He was awesome in the clone wars cartoon, taking on 4 Jedi's at once and actually approaching them, not running away. No idea why George made him out to be a coughing coward in the movie.

I've got three Hasbro versions of this guy sitting around waiting to be combined into my ultimate 1/6 general. If they finally announce/reveal him, maybe I can scratch that project.

Production photos would reignite my excitement for this figure. I'm tight on cash and have no room for additional figures, but Grievous is one I'd probably make room for. And go bankrupt for. :yess:

I'm still a little suspicious that it's a 1:6 in that picture. Everything else on that page is a statue.

But if we do finally get a PO for this guy, I'm in even though I'm not a big PT fan. In fact, I'm starting to thin out the PT herd in my collection, and trying to keep it OT focused. Yes, the character wasn't great, but the character design was, and I would love to include it in my collection.

Grievous was badass in the original Clone Wars and I thought a pretty scary opponent. His character would have been better in ROTS with the deleted scenses remaining in the movie as well.

Wasn't Jar Jar the Jar Jar of the PT? :wave

In E1 we get Maul. total badass. Doesn't take crap from anyone. After knowing Vader in the OT, we had to have a good villain. Not a lot of dialog, but you knew who the villain was. So, when he was killed off, I spent 3 years thinking Holy *****! Who is going to be the new badass??!!

And we got dooku.:slap

He just didn't work for me. I felt Lucas cast Christopher loyd because he was a hot property form The LOTR films. I'd much rather have had assaaj ventress. Thank god the clone wars made her the badass Dooku should have been.

Didn't know Doc played Dooku

Palpatine was was pulling the strings on both sides with the focus being a Republic victory... a strong opposing general was of no longer a benefit to his plan, but a hindrance.

I don't think the words "hot property" and Christopher Lee ever were together in the same sentence before now. The glories of the Internet! Not sure why anyone would believe a long-time, well respected actor like Lee would all of a sudden get cast in Star Wars because he happened to be a supporting role in another big budget film (I'd also note that Lucas usually did NOT cast big names in most of his roles). But I'd point out that Episode 2 came out 6 months after The Fellowship of the Ring was released theatrically. Meaning Lee was cast and shot his scenes in Star Wars long before he could have even become this "hot commodity".

Lee was cast in the same way Cushing was. Two respected British actors who were in one of the greatest Hammor Horror films ever. Why do you think he was 'Count' Dooku?

He was a cool design. Too bad he coughed all the time in the movie and wasn't as cool as he looked.

:exactly: Darth Vader was so memorable when I was a kid, real badass, everything you'd want the villian to be, and Grievous should have been a character that came across that way in the PT also.

It's weird, for over 7 years I've been pining for an awesome Grievous figure. And now, when he appears to be on the verge of being revealed (again), I don't know that I care anymore.
:lecture

Even if he is revealed soon, how much longer before he's released? This one is too long in the making......

QFT!

Though, I think they had to make Grievous LESS badass in order to have Anakin be THE badass in the film. Too bad cause he was off to a good start in the micro series.

Ok, so used the wrong name. You know who I meant. Yes, I know Christopher Lee has an enormous list a films he has been in But He hadn't been in a lot of things in recent years(meaning circa 2000). I honestly don't know the shooting schedules for either set of films but it's rather convienient both were shot in Australia/new Zealand. Peter Cushing(and alec guiness) were cast in 1976 to give SW some credibility. In 2002, they didn't need such a star.
