The Medi looks emaciated, but it looks overall more like ESB Yoda. The SS portrait looks like a re-worked Hasbro. My ideal situation is to pick up a Medi Yoda cheap,when the prices come down and transplant the head to the SSC body.

I dunno, I wish Sideshow offered us another sculptor's portrait, because this is too important of a character to accept a "pretty good" sculpt.

Well, everybody likes different things, I guess. I sold the Medicom because it simply doesn't look enough like Yoda to me (plus it has essentially no articulation). The SS isn't perfect, but I've seen all of the Yoda sculpts in this or similar scales (Gentle Giant mini-bust, Gentle Giant Statue, Attakus, Hasbro, Medicom) and they all have faults. None of them really look that much like ESB Yoda in reality, but I do think the Sideshow one is attractive and looks like the character as a whole.

Like Sideshow's the Medi fails because it's just too green (among other things).

Wow, I don't mean to piss on anyone's parade but that sculpt is awful. I usually don't complain or nit-pick about figures here, but that honestly looks like they got an intern to sculpt it or something. I'm actually kinda shocked.

Great news!...Im glad they chose to go with a 10 cent plastic orange snake that looks like it came from a zoo animals bag. (from a dollar store no less.) for the exclusive.

I don't think I would have gotten much use out of a Luke/Vader destroyed training head, a blue backpack, detailed lamp, a metal case with luke's food, Dagobah swamp creature...

Sideshow's Yoda looks good, just not perfect imo.
I'll be picking up the reg. from retail for a few bucks less, but I do think Medicom's Yoda sculpt looks more accurate to me.
Even Adam Hughes thought Medicom nailed ESB Yoda.

I picked up My Medi Yoda on sale for $42, and have never regretted it, The sculpt is hard to top.

I'll definitely be getting Sideshow's version, and possibly convert the Medi sculpt over.
I can't wait for SSC's PT Yoda now!

I can't say that I've ever understood the praise for the Medicom Yoda. No Bette Davis eyes and totally anorexic. If anyone can see a good ESB Yoda likeness there, more power to you. SSC's version at least says "half ESB, half Kenner" to me, which is great and far superior to any previous Yoda figures, IMO.

I'm getting the Sideshow Yoda either way but if I can find a Medicom for a decent price, I might just have to get one for the scene in ROTJ where he dies.
(he looks drawn and sickly so it fits.. to me anyway)

I'm going to wait until Gentle Giant produces these in 12 inch form to go with SSC's Dagobah Hut.
