Thanks for sharing all your pix everyone. It makes me even more excited for mine to show up, can't wait. I will wait until I have mine in hand to decide what I think about the factory paint but either way I know I am glad that I ordered him. Really looking forward to his hut environment too. Although I honestly have no idea where I'm gonna put it. I really, no kidding, do not have a space where I think it will fit. Still can't wait though.

Meh got mine.. and have the extra special paint rub on the nose exclusive. No idea how it happened with all the twistie tie protection.. guess Ill be waiting on a replacement. I must be flagged in the sideshow customer service system for all the exchanges I have made.. I think they like me and want to continue dealing with me in that respect.

Great comp shot there GB....and wow. I'm not gonna medi-bash here, but...I think I'm liking Sideshow's presentation better...



Guess we have come a long way with either of them compared to this ole' Hasbro one...

Ok..well I have both Yoda's and they both have their positives and negatives..but if you are going to compare the two..compare non altered ones..no offense..but the repaint on this medi yoda is terrible...Hulk Smash!

Couple of things:

1) After comparing the Sideshow and Medi side-by-side, it seems like the Medi Yoda's head must have been sculpted mostly from photographic references, rather than three-dimensional ones. I've seen a number of photographs of it that appear very close to some photographs of the ESB puppet; this doesn't hold up as well when things aren't "flattened".

2) Conversely, Sideshow headsculpt looks much better in hand than it does in any photographs I've seen of it.

I was expecting to be disappointed in the Sideshow figure after I saw some comparison shots earlier in this thread, but was pleasantly surprised once I had the figure in-hand.

Maybe this something to do with differences in focal lengths causing slight distortions in various photographs of the collectibles and props?

As an aside, I hope the eventual Sideshow prequel Yoda includes an alternate "hacked off" headsculpt, much like the large Yoda's expression in barryo's photogaoh immediately above.

It's a foam Yoda from the Disney Star Tours attraction. I have one too, it's really cool, it's about 16" tall or so, wires in it to pose, pretty decent cloth on the costume. Only part I didn't like was the horrible face hairs on it so I pulled them out of mine.

MF is correct..............got him off ebay a few years ago for $12........... i really like him. contemplated making him a light up saber to hold but that has yet to happen. one day.....

I think it's really cool, when I saw it in the gift shop when I was in FL I had to bring him home. It's just a shame he's not about a foot taller, he'd be about life size.

I love the Yoda shelf and the big Yoda. He looks kinda cute with that I want more pout.

My Yoda arrived today. I have not opened him yet but I do like him. I too was a lil weary about what I was going to get but when I look at him I think he is fairly close to the OT puppet. I recently watched ESB and I thought wow Yoda sure does look a little goofy or slightly off with them eyes.

yea when i first found out about his existence he was already sold out everywhere..........so i bided my time and got him cheaper than what he retailed for

The Star Tours shop has a mix of unique items and the same stuff you can find at any Toys R Us, I snagged all the unique stuff that caught my attention. It was cool to first walk into the gift shop and see nothing but Star Wars merchandise in this pretty huge shop.
