I'm really excited to see it in person at the show, hopefully they have a production sample for us. I cannot WAIT to paint this...

Since a lot more collectors are customizing these days, Sideshow should start selling unpainted heads.

That's a pretty boring base IMHO.

It's unimaginative, sure... but it's better than the plain black base with the logo, imho.

It doesn't really matter to me, because I'll have a custom backdrop, the Idol Pedestal and 1:6 crates ready for mine. But I do think it would be cool if Sideshow did some kind of environment for the Indy figure.

They did such a good job with the SDCC Anakin base, I think they could do something similar with temple bricks overgrown with vines or something. However, I don't think they actually will do it. They should consider the possibility of selling bases separately if they don't want to include them with the figure. I'd pay $10 or so for a nice base like that.

If they where going to do something with the base like that I would imagine we'd have seen it already. At most I think it would be what Carl said but most likely just a normal base which is fine. If I want to do something I can try and create it like I plan on with ANH Luke.

I wanted to post it simply to put that fear to bed, that the removal of the neck somehow skewed the likeness. This Indy will rule, no doubts. :rock2

Oh, and Joe... I am almost done with that Blade Runner head...it's looking damn good so far. You can really see Ford in there.

Crap, can't believe I missed this post :rock Soon Batty will have his foe and Deckard will have a head :lol

And, about the base I would assume we'll just see a standard black with logo... although a sculpted temple base (like the PF) would be sweet :rock

The sand bases are pretty boring, but I would like to see more like Sith Anakin's.

Great thought, I'd like to see most companies do this with components for figures. They'd make a fortune on top of there original sales plus you could keep your original figure intact. I have 3 Indy's on order. 1 to bash and the other 2 (exclusive and standard) to keep mint.
It'd be great if we could just 'cherry pick' the best parts for a bash.
Captain action has a lot to answer for!!!

I just checked the site and it now says "Display Base with Indiana Jones logo" but, I could swear, that when he first went up it said something like "rotating display base"...am I just going nuts or does anyone else remember this?

Hey all, Hasblo just cashed my check for the 1/6 ark so it may be coming soon.

Yup, yup. Same here. :whip

I did a little diggin' and discovered that, at least with the G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary Doc (another Hasbro promotion), it takes about a month from the cashing of the check to receipt of the item.

If that holds true, we could have these in hand by late July. Sweet!

Not sure if it'll make that German Soldier purchase worth it, but still... :D

I hope they fix the paint apps from the proto to the final. That's my only concern.

I've given up on factory paint. But please don't mess up the clothing like you did with Luke.

The factory paints from SS more than 95% of the time are just fine. Goodness if they where that bad people would stop buying them and honestly the only real issue I see with Luke is the color being a touch too off white. I have no doubts Indy will be just fine.

I am not criticizing factory paint. You can only expect so much when something is mass produced. The color of Luke's tunic doesn't bother me. It's the change in the type of fabric used.

I have 2 things I'm concerned about the final result with in production on this figure, the jacket and the stubble paint apps on his face. If these both turn out right, the rest should be fine, that and a tighter body than the hobbit one.
