Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

My personal take as well is that it will look plasticky... Its too big with minimalistic details. I know they will do a wonderful job with the interiors but for 700 dollars i wld prefer something that with a remote... Opens and closes the cockpit, starts the dashboard light and gives me some sound of the engine turnover... Its way too expensive for the details it carries and i think cost is just per sq inch of plastic... Sorry guys i like it but size and cost are not married to the details... Just my personal openion. Dont shoot arrows pls :)

could be true what you say, but i want to see in-hand pics first before i judge it...

now when they say they will charge on the 16th. is it the actual day or when it hits midnight on the 15th?

I never ordered it bro. Dont get me wrong i like it a lot. But cost, space, etc no way. I had saved up dollars to see how this shapes up. But damn those guys threw the robocops on me so instead of a late order on this i pre ordered robocop with chair and ed. I collect a lot but california is expensive and my apartment ends before it begins. So this is not gonna fit in my house... No way :) batpod is where i stopped. And for figures i draw the line at 1/6. This even though in 1/6 is way too big (obviously) for my tiny apartment.

I just think it'll look a bit plasticky and cheap even if it has more detail than Tumbler. If you look at Autoart models, their interior details are leagues more sophisticated (and cost hundreds upon hundreds less).

. . . . set up for Batmobile V.2? :lol

What is the grey/white bar that is hanging in the middle over the seats? Have not seen that in any pictures so far, looks a bit weird.

In the second image I only see some kind of hook but no bar.

Cripes- what a pointless discussion.
Auto Art stuff is 1/18, isn't it? HT Batmobile is 1/6 You hear that, 1/6!!!

To make a 1/6 Batmobile in diecast with that kind of detail- thousands. Dollars

How much is an Auto Art 1/18? $200?

Theses are apples/oranges.

It's there in some scenes. In fact in the very first appearance of the Batmobile ("Get in the car." / "Which one?") as soon as the cockpit opens, you can see it. I'm guessing it's part of the mechanism that pushing the canopy open, but it's removable for those times that it would interfere with a shot. And the "nub" part that it comes out of or attaches to is clearly visible in just about every shot where the canopy is open.

Right behind batmans head lurks the "nubb"

Just rewatched the Batmobile scenes in Returns, when Batman first gets out to rescue Selina from the clown, it's not directly visible, but he appears to brace himself on the steel bar with his left hand.

All about the bar/rod over the seats. :)

Am sure the rod is removable. This is a plastic car and i dont see them mold a bar in the middle - on which the cockpit shield would slide to be permanent. Then again who knows.

Maybe the bar can detach from the cockpit and slide back into the rear body of the car? That's my guess.

If that interior light that BM shines on VV isn't in the cockpit i'm going to be pissed. :lol

no pics of the cockpit closed?

Ouch... I will be surprised if hot toys went that far. Looking at how an intricate batpod can have those plastic hand supports, to plug in place (remember what a mess they were?). I think at best will be removable. If it does any sliding i willbe surprised. I think its needed just to ensure the cockpit cover slides in the trajectory they want it to slide in. Thats about it.
