No fading but I can rub it off without causing any damage. You can also rub it down with a soft cloth to take some of the shine down. Point being, it's not permanent and you can work it to various stages of shiny to dull.

Can the scratches be seen again if the wax has been rubbed down or removed?

Don't think the scratches would come back as it seems the color blends in with the scuff's. I just used a some what soft wash cloth that was rather old and in the "throw away" pile. After you wipe off all the excess and make sure it's all gone you can keep using the cloth around the area and even a small amount of distilled water seems to do the trick. Though I haven't been able to get the shine completely to go away yet but I actually like it a bit shiny as many parts of the car seem to be as shiny especially with lighting. I also didn't see any paint rubbing off after drying the area (cleaning with a clean cloth) so I'm not too worried about it.

I did notice that using double sided tape on some soft packing sheets didn't really hold so I just taped the hell out of it under the shell so I can put the shield on without fear of more scratches, seems to work really well. I for the life of me don't know why this wasn't done the first time. Seeing that large batwing made me some what want one in 1/6 but after this crap from HT I am really really on the fence about it.

What is the exact reference of the wax you use please?

I can echo what phobicsquirrel is saying as I also used a combination of Scratch X and Meguiars NXT to get rid of my blemish. I've detailed a lot of expensive sports cars over the years and if you use a non-abrasive pad to apply the wax and a microfiber towel to wipe it off you should be fine. That's what I did and it saved me the hassle of ordering multiple Batmobiles trying to get a good one and then having to return the defective ones. ;)

Very tempted to try the Scratch X treatment on my minor scratches. Couple of questions-

Is there a chance the Scratch X might react with the paint/ plastic of the Batmobile over time?
You said that the shine isn't permanent- How do you knock the shine down a bit to a duller coat?
What kind of cloth is best to use for applying the Scratch X?

Thanks in advance!

Sallah

Sallah,

I actually used Maguier's car wax. It's formulated to work on plastics and paints without damaging the car. I've used it on my car, my motorcycle (which the fairings are all plastic), action figures (one of my friends has been using it on his Transformers for scuffs for years) and now my Batmobile. Of course, I can't guarantee anything but I'm also not worried about possible damage or reactions.

I have not tried the Scratch X product so I can't really comment on it but I believe it's basically a high viscosity polish used for rubbing out scuffs and scratches.

To your other question, just like waxing your car, the more wax layers you put on it, the more shiny it is. And the reverse is also true. So apply vary sparingly and remove most of it with a soft non abrasive cloth. I used an old 100% cotton t-shirt/rag and it worked just fine. Once you go over it a couple times, you can make it less shiny.

Hope that helps.

Adam West Batmobile is next then probably a re-release of this one for Returns. If they do a Forever Batmobile it will be several years at least.

Doubt it, I would think they would move on, most likely the majority of everyone who wanted this has it.
They have the 66 next and then maybe the BTTF DeLorean after that. I would think after those two they would want to make the new Batmobile from the Superman vs Batman movie.

I agree- this has BR features....and considering all that has gone on with this.....I'm sure Ht is moving on.....

66 Batmobile next ( I hope next year).....by 2015 we'll have new Batmobile in B/S film and beyond
