Received my second Batmobile from Sideshow today, and it too came with a plastic bag laid on top of the car, protecting it from the shields.

It arrived without a scratch on the car itself, there WAS some white chalky stuff on one of the canopy windows, but it rubbed right off (thank God.) There does look to be a small plastic 'tab' on the inside of the round windows on either side (that my first one didn't have), but honestly its not too noticeable and I have no idea how I'd remove it, lol. So for me, it's as perfect as it's gonna get:)

But yeah, all the seals were still in place, and if it IS Sideshow putting the bag in, they're doing a good job putting everything back the way it should go. So relieved to finally be settled with this car, I really feel for everyone else that has had to go through 2-3 cars and different dealers to get a mint one. Hopefully HT will learn from this, but I suppose only time will tell.

Was the Hot Toys tape sealed when you received it?

I just received mine today from big bad toy store.com and it has two big scuffs on one side I feel like ****ing crying. I am so upset I don't even want it. I'm assuming there is no way to get rid of them and no way to exchange it. Hot toys should at least provide us with a little bottle of ****ing paint. Including shipping this damn thing set me back over 700 bucks and it should be perfect. This is BULL****. I'm open to any suggestions.

I just got mine from SSC too, holy hell is this thing huge and hard to get up the stairs. The box was all banged up, I can tell the UPS guys were having a fun time handling this thing, but I'm happy to report that it looks to be scratch free! It does have a huge plastic bag between the batmobile and the shields. Looking at the foams on the underside of the shields, I can see kinda indentations in some of the foams where pressure may have been applied where most people are might be getting the scratches from.

Sorry to hear about people getting this from BBTS damaged, I would email them and tell them how SSC is shipping these now and so far, from everyone who got the shipment with the plastic bag, appear to be free of major scratches.

Contact BBTS and UPS to let them know it's damaged. You can get an exchange, I am in process of getting an exchange as well for my damaged one from BBTS.

I did ask BBTS about this for my exchange. They said they have not gotten any new stock (with changed packaging) and won't be altering the packaging any, so my guess is the rest of theirs will likely come damaged...or are at least more likely to be damaged.

Yes, it was sealed and there wasn't any evidence that old Hot Toys tape was removed and then new stuff reapplied or anything like that. It looked identical to my first Batmobile that I purchased direct from Sideshow.

Here are some pics of how it is shipped from SSC now. You can use this to show BBTS how they are shipped now, let them know they should reconsider adding some sort of protection over it.

Hard to tell who put the plastic bag, but it looks like it may have been HT since my boxes appear to have only one layer of tape applied and it does not look like it had been opened before.

Nice shots, exactly how mine came as well. Hopefully this means an end to those terrible scratches!

Such a simple solution. Hopefully HT learned something valuable before they release the 66 Batmobile or BTTF DeLorean.

Hi guys. Well I opened my second one here in the UK which I received from BBTS. It's better than my first one but still has a rub on the left side by round window. A few small marks on the right side of the canopy as well. It also has a 1cm scratch on the right front.

Waiting to hear back from Mike at BBTS

I'm tempted to try some wax but not sure what is best to buy in the UK. anyone got any ideas?

Does anyone know if it is easy to remove the canopy at all? The first one I got didn't have any marks on the actual canopy so was thinking of swapping it over.

Thanks

Will BBTS offer a refund do you know? Because this isn't some minor setback, this is a big deal. We're not talking about a $4.99 matchbox car.

They WERE offering $75-125 credit on some folks........each case may be different

Just got mine from Sideshow. Not a single scratch or blemish. :yess: the plastic bag they put between the car and shield seems to have solved the problem. This thing is a beast in person. Next to my PF Speederbike and WETA Rivendell, this has to be the most impressive piece.

You know, with the right light, you can't even see it, but I know they're there!! I wish there was a way I could paint them. Just the thought of the hassle of sending this way, IF bbts takes it back. I don't even want to look at it :(

The marks on mine are worse than any I've seen on the net. And bigger.

Any pix?

Yeah definitely I and others have been seeing a lot more and more bad pictures of 2 or more imperfections on the Batmobile. Just a bummer for the customer and vendor because of HT mess of not packing the box right.
