Man SS can't win.

Mad about no ES on Hulk.
Mad about to large an ES on Batman.
Mad about ES on Droids being to low.

Just a little. The rest is cool though.

I'm on the WL for the EX time stamp @ 1946 but it isn't necessary that I get this the reg works for me. SW is my main focus in my collection so I'm happy to be able to get these.

I also don't think there will too many flippers with this because of the price.

This is why SS ignores us for the most part and I don't blame them one bit. :lecture

Exactly and I don't blame them either! I wouldn't want to come to a site where there are hostile geeks ready to flame you if you say one word.

:lol :rock

I hope that SS makes the regular an open edition.....::runs and hides::

:lol :lol :lol

:lol:lol:lol I thought that might be what you ment cause you said something about a Luke PF.

But if you don't mind me asking. If all you collect are OT PFs then how does not getting the EX droids mess up your collection? After all, they look like a mess 99.9% of the time in the OT. They are only clean at the end of SW and in all the Prequals.

Never mind I get it now. You have all the EX versions of the SW PF but did not get the EX droids. :slap I am a tad slow but I will get there.

:lol It's cool I just needed somewhere to vent I don't expect anyone to keep up with my whinging!
I am an EX collector. I don't get a Reg if an EX is available, being overseas it's cheaper to get SS direct than local 90% of the time. Tho I do have Grievous and Maul EXs SS pretty much made my mind up for me on the prequels when they went stupid and had no EX for Dooku. I don't have the first Luke EX but I have all the other OT PFs, I've been collecting Star Wars since SS started the PF line. I am not pleased about missing out on the Droids EX but I do like the Reg for the obvious OT look.

The idea is to collect what YOU like and not necessarily what has a low edition. I won't start again the story of toys "investments" and scalping/flipping, since most of us know it. :)

I agree that it's silly to like something just because it has a small edition size (or to dislike it because it has a large one), but that's not to say that edition size is completely irrelevant. If the edition size is too small, something can become almost impossible to get on the secondary market -- at least without paying an arm and a leg. I'm afraid that may be the case here.

On the other hand, if the edition size is too big, you might be able to get the item for a fraction of the original price as they sit for months or years in the warehouse. This kind of thing doesn't just affect flippers or people looking for "investments."

:goodpost: :exactly: it sucks for flippers and collectors alike. You nail it there. :hi5: I guess it's a ever changing hobby. I just hope I have enough power to keep my collection. I sure didn't for toys. Spent thousands to create a huge collection only to lose interests and dump it for a fraction of the price when I lost interests. I really hope this hobby keeps me in. But looking at how many veterans here who's been collecting for years now keeps me motivated. :wink1:

Low edition is a plus for me. In fact, I will not buy anything of an open edition.
To me, it's not just having something that depicts a certain character, sitting in my house - It has to be somewhat rare, or limited.
I like the thrill of the hunt, and when I look at an item that has a limited run, it makes it much more enjoyable for me to know that I am one of the not-so-many to have it.

I ordered the regular edition. If I was to get the EX by some miracle I would flip it like the Karate Kid so I could get a Gambit, Ms Marvel, or Darth Talon.

Yeah flipping suck but so is being late to the game. Trying to find either one of those three for even double retail is impossible.

:goodpost: yes I've paid so much more than retail for sold out statues by coming in late. I need to flip a few to get more grails that I need. :) talon is amazing btw. Get her no matter the costs.

I do not care about the low ES on these. I had the chance to order the Ex before it sold out but I like the regular versions much better, so I passed on the Ex for about the first time for a PF.

Personally, the separate bases are the best thing about the EX, although the shiny C-3PO looks nice. I want display options, not one giant footprint.

Even with a lower edition size, I don't see this flipping. It's going to cost me close to $900 after sales tax and shipping. It would have to sell for a thousand bucks on eBay just to make back the purchase price, if you factor in eBay and PayPal fees. This just doesn't seem like something you would get to resell for a profit--not worth the trouble.

Then you need to look at completed transactions for PFs. It's pretty silly. I see this as an easy flip to either Asia or europe. To bad I'm keeping my Reg and just ordered the Hulk or I would try and go for the WL.

My WL was place about 45 minutes after it sold out and I don't think I have a prayer of getting one.
