Am I the only one who woud have preferred a ROTS Vader bust? Not that this isn't amazing, but I just like the shiny look of ROTS Vader more...

Well, unless something dramatic happens that Sideshow does human 1:1 Star Wars busts and offers Obi-Wan, Vader will be my retirement from Sideshow 1:1 busts.

That's what i was thinking. Getting Vader would kind of complete the circle. The only characters left would be humans, Boba Fett and Troopers and i don't think that will happen. Especially now with LSB's.

Of course I'm not :lol Sorry if it actually came off that way :monkey3

Although preferring ROTS over ROTJ is a fail, that's not my opinion, that is just truth :lecture

:lol

Whew! Thank the maker, you where scarring me for a minute there.

But yeah, it might be a fail, but I like the charred burnt Ani reveal look compared to the pail skin graphed Ani reveal. :D

:lol

Im curious Chaver, did you grow up with the original trilogy?? Or get into SW with the prequel trilogy??

:lol

Hey, I guess you never really can tell in the SW section :lol But I really try to make it a point to not be a total d-bag :lol

And I can see the fun of a freshly burned up Anakin... but being that ROTJ was one of the first movies I clearly remember seeing as a kid the old white-headed Anakin is the one I gravitate towards. And I actually like that rather than go with the semi-sad defeated reveal, we get this more stoic portrait.

There may be some younger fans that like PT more than OT, but Darth Vader from OT is not to be compared to Haydenized Vader of ROTS.:D In PT we see baby Anakin with his huge number of midichlorians:duh, then a crying and confused Hayden/Anakin who lately becomes "Darth Vader". No thanks.

For me Darth Vader is the guy who killed Antilles by choking him in mid air, Vader who inspired terror among Imperials and Rebels alike. The most iconic villain of all times.

OT Vader > PT Vader

Couldn't have said it better myself :lecture Crushing Antilles throat really is a great summation of Vader's badassitude :rock

I'm not sure if I'd buy this bust if the reveal was ROTS. The ROTS reveal is cool because of the level of burns to Anakin's face, but the Gentle Giant ex. version of their ROTS Vader bust more than satisfies that gap for me.

I have no emotional attachment to the ROTS reveal, it was just a neat visual, but I've had an emotional attachment to the ROTJ reveal since I was a 4 years old. I used to reenact Luke pulling Vader's mask away ever time I opened my Darth Vader figure case, I made a wearable Vader mask out of Legos and would reenact it with those, I almost spent like $100 on a custom 4" Hasbro reveal a few months before Hasbro announced their official figure, my father made a special trip after a long day at work just to pick up my Hasbro reveal Vader from my local collectible dealer when it finally was released, I got the 14" Hasbro Vader with the reveal for Christmas one year, and I've bought every 4" Hasbro figure to feature it since, as well as Medi ROTJ Vader, Galactic Heroes Vader.

I don't know why, but the scene of Luke revealing Anakin left a big impression on me from day one, the music, the visuals, the emotion. If this bust didn't have that and were just a Vader bust priced at what it is, I'm not sure if I'd have ordered this, even though I really wanted a Vader bust for some time, but the extra emotional value of it removed all hesitation over getting this piece.

Yep, before I knew it was a full reveal helmet I wouldn't have been willing to pay anymore than $800ish for a Vader bust. But seeing the Shaw portrait, the internal details and that crazy work on the inside of the face mask pushed me over the edge into crazy expensive collectible land :lol

Although i agree that the look of the ROTS Vader is kick ass, the ROTJ Vader is truley legendary.......
