Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

not a great movie, but entertaining at least. my only view if a movie is worth seeing without all the critics is if its a fun flick which it was..

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

1. They did, for the first act of the movie. You sure you weren't drunk? :lol

2. They don't, Flag and DS loathe each other the entire movie. Most of the team don't get a long until they decide to try and group up to take out Flag.

3. Again, you sure you weren't hittn the mimosa's? Their mission was to escort the "one person you can't live without" in the end it turned to stopping Enchantress.

4. They did do that, both of them.

5. They did this too. You black out before the bar scene? :lol

It was poorly done compared to other films. Ocean's 11 is a good example of a modern team on a mission film. I really had no idea why the team members in SS were chosen for that specific mission. I'm talking about Ayer's writing specifically. If you create a fictional mission...then ideally you want each member of that team to be there for a reason and to use their particular skills somehow. They pretty much just beat up people with H2H combat which anyone can do.

Sure, this movie had flaws but I overlook them because I was so ****ing entertained! :rock :yess: :rock

I think the majority of people here acknowledge the flaws. Some try to make sense of them...which is always hilarious, but I think most people, and I include myself, just enjoys the pretty colors and character dynamic.

I know where you stand but I'm not sure about everyone else. Khev already said this is a guilty pleasure film and that's fair, but people saying this movie is better than BvS or MOS kinda hurts my head, and I don't even like either of those movies. It makes me think people really don't see or want to see the flaws this movie really has. I mean, Jye said this was the best DC movie since TDK and Uncle Bingo thinks this was better than TDK :lol

I judge a movie based on ratios. If there's more bad than good, then, for me, it's a bad movie.

Things I liked about Suicide Squad:
-Viola Davis as Amanda Waller
-Will Smith as Deadshot
-Jai Courtney as Boomerang
-Harley's classic costume showing up
-The Flash's cameo
-Batman's cameo

Things I was indifferent about in Suicide Squad:
-Killer Croc
-El Diablo
-Slipknot
-Katana (she looked great, acted great, but felt completely out of place)
-Rick Flagg
-Harley Quinn (though, more aptly, I'd put her on both the "things I love" and "things I hate" list, as she was great when she wasn't trying to be, but her Puddin' and Mr. J ******** didn't fit at all and was more cringey than Curb your Enthusiasm)

Things I didn't like about Suicide Squad:
-Pretty much everything else

Well, it's not hard to be the best DC movie since TDK....

TDKR I wanted to walk out of.
MOS I wanted to sleep.
BvS was all about peaks and valleys.
SS was all rewarding all the time.

The team dynamics and their purpose worked good enough for me.

If it did things differently than previous team movies then so be it, good for them for being different.

2 involving Deadshot's daughter and Harley telling Diablo to own it.

Hell, I think there were a few more involving the group coming together to fight and Harley and Joker. :lol

This movie had some serious heart.

Very much agreed. Which is one of the reasons I rate it higher than a lot of films it emulates stylistically and something that I think future copycats will have a hard time matching.

During Superman's burial with the slow mo cannons, I was yawning.

:lol :lol

Yeah I shouldn't feel more empathy for and inspiration from "the worst of the worst" than Superman. :duh

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Damn, I don't think it's possible for a movie to be as bad as Catwoman.

For some reason you keep seeking acknowledgement that Suicide Squad is as bad as Catwoman. You're not going to get it. If a movie is entertaining from beginning to end then it is not as bad as Catwoman. Period. No break down of the film on any technical level will ever change that fact.

Some movies are great because they are so artistically or technically proficient from beginning to end. Others might coast on heart, performances or charm. Certain films transcend everything and excel at all of the above. Catwoman excelled at nothing. That's why it's garbage.

****** that Trank relationship f'd you up, Puhturts. Heal, bruh. Heal.

Yep. :lol

They're definitely "the worst of the worst." I just think we disagree on exactly how that is.:lol

BvS is like the thrill of waiting in line for space mountain.

SS is space mountain.

Yup,

Some cars give you that special feeling up your spine to your brain while others don't.

SS gave me that tingle from opening credits to end credits.

Btw, the 3D was indeed pretty cool....not one of the best mind you...but not bad either, and I loved the Imax specific opening they did, similar to the Godzilla 2014 one.

Yep, 3D + Joker IMAX intro are necessary for the complete SS experience. :lecture

And this was the first Jai Courtney movie I've seen where I saw him as an actual character and not "Jai Courtney."
