Most of what they did with Harvey Dent last night was excellent, especially the scene in his office when he's talking with Gordon et.al. about how he wants to push Lovecraft. In the middle of that scene, they light Harvey in an interesting way - one side completely lit, one side completely dark. Not shadowed...dark. The two face implication is spot on, particularly in his personality already. We all know that he'll double cross Gordon on this situation, but watching it unfold is working perfectly.

Just worked a scene with Barbara and she is gorgeous in person. I didn't realize she had an accent too, I think British.

So that means she doesn’t go away anytime soon…. Hopefully they make her more interesting because I could do without her completely.

Man, this show does not disappoint! Just keeps getting better with every episode.

What lawyer do you know that went to 8 years of college and had to intern for years and years and then become prosecutor by 24? This is not Doogie Howser (sure hope you know who Doogie Howser is) Same goes for Riddler, but if he was that smart he would not be a low level lab rat.
Next thing you know, they are going to have a 18 year old **** Grayson pick on Bruce

William T. McNealy was the youngest District Attorney at age 21. James A. Murphy III was an assistant DA while in his 20's in 1988. :lecture As far as the Riddler goes, he's a genius, so working for the police as a "lab-rat" doesn't make sense to begin with, but then again, we don't know much about the character, so who knows why he's there. Not to mention, it's a fictional world, not real life. I wouldn't call him a low level lab rat either.

So yes, Dent and Nigma can be in their mid 20's and still be 40 years old when Bruce is Batman :lecture

My guess is to learn about police tactics to understand how to get around them down the road.

Nygma loves riddles. What better riddle is there then figuring out who dunnit. He's certainly not the type to become a cop ssoforensics would be the next best thing.

I graduated law school, passed the bar exam, and was practicing by 24. I wasn't an ADA, but I know a few that went into the DA office at that age. The only stretch is it usually takes several years to work-up to big cases. Fresh ADAs do misdemeanor, drug possession, drunk driving, etc. ... not murder or conspiracy. Especially in a city like Gotham. Big cities have armies of ADAs. The young ones get the crap cases. The old timers get the big ones.

I don't really mind possible age discrepancies between Bruce and the villains, though. It's a new version. Things change.

As for Nigma, I think his origin here is the most clever of anybody so far. It doesn't take much thought to back-up from Catwoman and come up with a homeless thief girl. Or back-up from Penguin and come up with a clever low-level mobster. But, backing out the Riddler and coming up with a forensic scientist is quite brilliant (though somewhat stolen from Arkham Origins). A man who is narcissistic and obsessed with puzzles would be drawn to something like forensics. His development comes when solving crimes isn't as satisfying as outwitting people who solve crimes.

Well, like I said, it's a show about a fictional city, so anything is possible, especially in a place as corrupt as Gotham. I don't think most of those characters should be on the show, but they are, and they won't be too old by the time Bruce is Batman.

Edward Nashton is head of GCPD's cyber-crime division in Origins ...

I really enjoyed the relationship between Alfred and Bruce, here. Also, the stuff between Selina and Bruce was interesting. The main plot felt a bit... well, superfluous this time around but I didn't mind because I liked the character stuff we got. I wish the actor for Ed Nygma was better. I just don't think his performance really works. I mean, clearly he's supposed to be kind of creepy and annoying. But, I think a more subtle performance would make the character work better.
