:exactly:
I was thinking, they are pretty close in appearance, that the announcement of releasing Mk.VI may steal sales away from Mk.IV.

Maybe release Mk.V first, let that prolong the hype generated from Mk.IV, then release the Mk.VI once there are no more Mk.IV's available at normal prices and certainly before the Avengers movie gets out. It's fun to guesstimate. :banana

The mark V is still fresh from being announced..there is no way in hell the MV will be out before the VI!

We'd be lucky to see the MkV this year. At very best we're looking at November or December imo.

:exactly: ...and the lack of a downey sculpt should mean none of that likeness approval rubbish that could set back the release even more, so the lack of a downey sculpt is a good thing in that sense.

I somewhat doubt they're delaying the VI to clear out IV's. For one, there really can't be many unclaimed IV's still floating around out there, what with so many of them being pre-orders in the first place. And secondly, they would have delayed Falconer Predator for the same reason, as he's just as similar to Berserker Predator as the Mark VI is to the IV.

The iron man figures are both iron man whereas the predators are different "characters"...

I get what you're saying, but releasing two predators back to back could deflate sales of one or the other just as much as releasing two iron mans back to back; in both cases, the second figure is more or less a repaint of the first. If this was a concern of Hot Toys, i believe they would have released Falconer much later.

so is it a sure fire thing that it comes out in may? that would be good because I can get sumthing else now, instead saving funds. I am an addict

well strategy or not they still have only limited resources so scheduling will always be challenging. I certainly doubt they will hold back inventory just for the sake of a strategy. It's more likely that they are being presented with bottleneck and have to pick and choose to delay a number of releases to be able to sync the production schedule back with what's achievable

Just for noting and all the Ex version of the Mark Vi through SS is now showing shipping in March while the regular is showing shipping in Jan.

:goodpost:

Yeah, all HT Marvel figs are gonna sell out, irregardless of who or what they're competeing against.

They have a lot of figs (and two bikes!) in the pipeline so far this year.
Plus the RDJ headsculpt approval is udoubtedly an issue yet again...:horror

Normally I'd agree with you, but considering that the Mark IV had so much hold up and the Mark V is a bit easier to do without having to worry about human sculpts you never know.

That is good news but I won't believe it until I see FB pics of the Downey sculpt. The month is pretty much over so I wouldn't expect from SS anything earlier than March for any of them but until I see HT showing off the sculpts the wait will undoubtedly continue.

Yeah, I'm still expecting that to get pushed back again honestly. I'm hoping they ship close together since I have two so I can display both damaged and pristine.

Figuredetails.com posted photos on January 12th of the rarely seen non-damaged Mark VI on display in the Hot Toys Store. I don't know if this addition means the figure is close to release, but we've so rarely seen this figure in his pristine mode that I'm just happy to see some new pics. He looks fantastic!

These were posted a few pages back ..but ya ,the clean look is fantastic!

The "clean" version still has scuffs on his thighs, correct.

Yes ..it's like 80% clean i guess ..but if you want 100% that's what the IV is for ..and yes i know that it has a few paint chips here and there, but i would still call it 100% clean.

In that 4th picture, you'll see the space between his left shoulder plate and chest armor that is so much more evident in the Mk.III BD figure.
Things like that ruin the look for me but it's good to see HT has closed this gap on the Mk.IV+VI.
