Hawkeye seems like a real fixer-upper figure. He only needs a few upgrades to make him perfect. I plan on adding some elbow pads to him and maybe night vision goggles. Perhaps a headset or earpiece like Fury has. Also it looks like one of his accessories is a grappling hook (?) if it is then I'll add some coiled rope, hanging off the back of his belt. Thinking about giving him a handgun/holster and a more impressive bow. And finally I think he should have some knives or some kind of melee weapon for close combat.

Good enough for me to buy, but I don't think its good enough for me to have purchased if it wasn't part of the Avengers. I love archer toys and characters, and like Hawkeye in the comics (or did twenty years ago - no idea if they screwed him up since).

It's interesting to note that Hot Toys has raised their prices on the Marvel MMS line pretty quickly from 169.99 (Thor, Odin, Captain America, New Goblin) to now 189.99 (Nick Fury, Hawkeye, Red Skull is 199.99!) - all in less than a year...pretty crazy i think...

And will continue to go up. Pretty soon you won't be able to pick up a Hot Toy for under $200.00.

We europeans pay around 40-60 dollars more for each figure. I wish I could pay 200 usd for Hot Toys figures... If I import them from the US or HK then I'll have to pay 30% taxes of the declared value of the item.. :gah:

He's a decent enough looking figure, but....

....I find it hilarious that folks can call this a fixer-upper at nearly $200. a pop...and that seems okay.

Boy, HT does have some in here by the short hairs. eh?

It'll be interesting to see how high HT can go this summer before more folks cry "Uncle!"

Just sayn'.....

Yes its totally overpriced. You will find pages and pages of me b!t#hing about the price throughout several threads ( especially considering something like T-1000 was $160 and came with enough parts to build 2 whole figures )

And HT can only give Hawkeye what he actually utilizes in the film. They can't just throw in a flamethrower cause its cool. I have to add that later :monkey3

I just noticed on FB, 1/6 republic has a poll up asking who is buying Hawkeye. The count so far is 38 yes 118 no. Wow

Someone earlier on here made a great point. For those who don't get Hawkeye now, they'll miss out. I can't imagine they'd ever consider making a 2nd version.

that was like 2 years ago. prices go up. materials go up. licensing especially goes up. everything goes up. You have to be able to accept that. if you can't your going to be miserable. :(

Materials and licencing hasnt gone up that much in a year and a half. This is just Hot Toys jacking up prices because they know we will pay it.

I can't speak on the cost of licensing, but oil has gone from @ $80 a barrel to $109. Thats over a 30% increase. All toys made with plastic that is made with oil have gone up since. probably about 30%.

That's a relative argument...

Let's say the total cost of oil used in the plastic doll was $12 per figure? That means the plastic now costs $16 -- 30% increase. That increase wouldn't create a major increase in overall pricing. You can't tell me that an HT figure's "plastic" cost is more than $30 tops.

It's not the cost of oil that's the problem, or even a contributing factor. Oil directly effects the cost of shipping a lot more. The rise in pricing is simply this hobby finding its saturation point. They have found the $$$ people are willing to shell out for these figures. For SS quality in Star Wars, it's an average of $125. For HT quality, looks like about $250 is where they will settle... maybe they'll stay at $300 and simply offer more elbaorate dios to justify the price.

I'm not saying HT isn't capitalizing on popularity or suply and demand. I'm sure they are. But everything is increasing in price.

Remember what I have taught you Edward-san!

Back in the day when i bought my very first 1/6 fig (SS Anakin for $55!!)
i never thought i'd eventually pay $200 for each piece, much less be asked
to pay this much for a character i only knew about in a kids' cartoon - Avengers EMH.

yeah i know the quality has gone up, but it still serves the same purpose :lol

I just got a few new Marvel Legends 6" for $20 each. They use to be WAY better quality when Toy Biz made them AND they were only $8. Thats a 150% increase. OUCH! Oh well.
