Why can you still buy Dragon Model 1/6 figures for under $80.00?

like i said its both, and its more than just these, its everything that goes into making these figures. its not just 1 thing thats causing price increasing. Its not a simple process. You got to understand manufacturing and world economics. I deal in product manufacturing, im a graphic designer, i design packaging all the time. The printing costs have gone through the roof over the last 1-5 years or so because of so many things. Paper, ink, overhead costs, insurance for the workers working at the printing presses...so many things go into manufacturing products. its a very complex process.

also it was either someone from Sideshow or Hot Toys made a statement last year the licensing to get Nicholson and Keaton was very very expensive.

We're talking about Hawkeye, do you really believe they paid him what they had to pay Nicholson and Keaton? You know what I believe? Hot Toys has got their Fanboys by the cojones and they're squeezing them for all they have. And that's MY OPINION.

Lets assume you are 100% correct. Are you one of those fanboys buying Hawkeye?

I got it, Hot Toys are just going to keep going up in price as long as people are will to pay it.

One could argue that you are not just paying for the figure you are paying for them to evolve their skill for the next figure.

Some years ago the sculpt wouldn't of been as good and the arms wouldn't be muscle-like, just standard TT

did u pre-order Hawkeye?

With Hot Toys and even Sideshow you often don't need to anymore :dunno

Would of been better had they used the HT TT Advanced for Captian America. And you're right, no need to pre-order figures that will be around for a while. If you wait you can get them for a lot less from place like Hastings.

because they arent making Jack Nicholson, Johnny Depp, Michael Keaton, and all the other movie characters. The licensing to get these famous movie characters are very very expensive.

At this point, I was starting to crack up, i knew what would happen next :lol

Thought it was the cost of oil, which is it?

This was just plain hilarious :rotfl:rotfl
You guys are intense :clap :duff

Good enough for me to buy, but I don't think its good enough for me to have purchased if it wasn't part of the Avengers. I love archer toys and characters, and like Hawkeye in the comics (or did twenty years ago - no idea if they screwed him up since).

:exactly: I couldn't agree more. Same with Fury. If it weren't for the want to have them all, he would not be on my pre order list either.

Congratulations toyloin! Welcome to the plan that keeps the throbbing heart of America (and the rest of the Western countries) beating...

...the concept and application of the "Capitalist Economy"

Everything goes up, every year. It is unavoidable because that's how the system is designed, and that's how it's been for a very long time. So HT will ensure that it's the customer that pays for all that additional outlay and not they themselves...as well as adding a workably healthy profit margin. And in 5 years it can go up a lot, not just the oil, but wages of everyone (with the improved sculpts, that must be quite a hike right there), developing new bodies, cost of fabrics, cost of cardboard for the boxes...cost of the ribbons used for the top layer of a DX figure, paint, the cost of the movie licences and for getting the actor's permission to use their likeness...it is alomst endless.

Direct usage of the idea that the stinky-juice rolls downhill!

And the person that pays for it all, is the customer. But somehow you are acting like this is news to you..?

You do realize he was being rhetoric? :slap :lol :peace

He's aiight. I do, though, like the variety that having Hawkeye on my shelf will bring.

Art figures avenger game out lately.it's hot toys quality and cost only $110 including shipping
i cannot imagine that licenses cost that much high as they want as to believe.
With the same thinking we have had to pay $40-$50 for neca 7 inch figures
just for license issues.
Hot toys just saw ebay increasing prices for older products
and saw that customers were willing to pay $200-$250
just to get their hands a figure that cost initially $100
so hot toys thought ...hey i can do the same...why someone else gets my profit
the only problem is that not majority of the people are willing to pay this
kind of money nowdays
i believe this is going to be a boomerang for the company because they will turn off
people from the hobby...
Not majority of people earns $3.000 to $4.000
and are willing to spent monthly $400 to $600 on figures.

Nothing you said is based on any logic, let alone any facts...
