Well HAWKEYE gets possessed at some point in the movie.

Thanks for that.

That's another fact I'd tried to avoid from the movie that has been spoilt by people here and other threads.

Does anyone actually take any notice of the moderators...or if the caution appears on another thread and not here, that means it's OK to spoil it on this one? :gah:

Sorry, I went and blocked that word with spoiler text but its been quoted a number of times now (including you) so I don't know that it will do much good. I really do apologize for spilling that but that's why I avoid all movie/figure threads for movies I don't want spoiled when they're soon to be released and I ABSOLUTELY avoid them AFTER they've been released prior to my viewing. I know it sucks though, if its any consollation that shouldn't ruin the movie for you, it actually has quite a few surprises IMO.

At a billion dollars and counting after 8 days I actually assumed I was the last one to finally see it. My bad.

Dude, I'm with you on the spoilers thing, but seriously, go see the f'in movie already!

Well thank you for the sentiment, but if I could I would. When I say (and keep saying in fact) that I am not in a position to...I mean it.

When you have your own wife and son to care for, but are also helping to look after your mother, who lives on the west coast of the UK over 250 miles away, and another close relative (your wife's mother) in the next large town over, some 20 miles away...

Most of your time is being spent travelling.

Things like the cinema are a rare luxury indeed. As I have said in another post, my life-line to the cinema is my 46" 3D Plasma TV, my Bluray machine and my 1/6 scale figures. The last movies we saw at the cinema was AVATAR.

When I said that not everyone is in the same position, this is what I meant.

I see your point DGT but after a second full weekend of worldwide viewing these threads are going to be buzzing with film spoilers; especially with BW, IM and Hulk on the way and the full Loki reveal.

There are too many people on this form who do not care if others have seen the movie or not; and there are not enough mods to police the hundreds of posts in such a fast amount of time on this forum. The best the MODS can do, is put a warning somewhere at the top of the forum to view any newly released movie related thread at your own discretion, a spoiler free environment cannot be guaranteed.

Movie thread or figure thread it does not matter, expect to run into spoilers. The lesson here is don't go looking in the Dark Knight Rises movie or toy thread if the movie has come out and you haven't seen it.

Just avoid these threads until you see the movie, because things will not change.

And I can understand that. I am not stupid, it's not being done maliciously, I know this...I can understand that it is merely conscientious enthusiasm. Also, I can see that after a reasonable period (like say, at the release of the Bluray) anything conversation wise is fair game.

But even if it is being done purely through exuberant enthusiasm, it is still being done, and that's what the spoiler tags were created for.

Spoilers have been OK'd in the movie thread so surely spoilers are OK in the figure threads? We need some clarification...

Hence the reason why I'm staying away from TDKR thread. Even speculation can be a spoiler.

Well I cannot say that you are wrong, but it's a sad indictment of the community, that one such as me (and I cannot imagine that I am alone) should be punished for not being able to get to the movies within a fortnight.

No offence intended fella, was thinking for your benefit rather than as a dis. I know how tough things can be just with 2 kids, can only imagine how tough it is in the circumstances you describe. Was being flippant.

OTOH...

...46" 3D Plasma TV...

NO, I understood the theme of your post, we are good :duff:

Yes, on some films it can really be like that :lol!

to be fair, if you want to avoid any spoiler, you might as avoid the internet. It's almost impossible not to read/see anything about a movie before the movies out

Sorry, Not wishing to labour the point but I refuse to accept that. We are not talking about the whole internet here, we are talking about one set of boards from one forum, that actually has spoiler tags built into the answering protocol, and dedicated movie discussion threads dedicated to said movies or TV shows.

So what we are talking about amounts to no less than laziness and a lack of consideration.

Not that it matters ultimately, but I do agree with you and feel the same way.
