If it will help you sleep at night then you should apply a second coat. Actually I currently have two coats on mine. One gloss and the second matte. Be warned though that too many applications will obscure the dome texture. And I was thinking of doing a second coat. Should I?
This is a subjective question as only you can determine if it feels too different for your tastes. I will tell you that mine has a much less tacky feel to it and I like that. It is also easier to dust because of this.Well I'd prefer a solution that doesn't look or feel any differently than an untreated figure; any suggestions for that?
There are two schools of thought to these options:So is mod podge the one to go for? I have 2 days to cancel my order of the Honda silicone grease. From what I've read, it seems like people have been applying the Honda more frequently than the mod podge, and the mod podge is also cheaper and is in larger quantity than the Honda.
1- Honda grease is best served to those who want to perform a preventive measure in mitigating the dome cracks. If the dome already shows cracks than I think this option would be too little, too late. It requires continuos applications but the results seem to work thus far.
2- Mod Podge is a sealer, once applied and dried, it requires no more applications as it has effetively created a barrier between the dome and the outside world. Some have made it a point, and I agree that sealing the outside does not mean that the inside is sealed and therefore the cracking could come from the inside out. Only time will tell. I do know that applying the Mod Podge made a world of difference on my ED and he still looks good many months later. How long this will last is anyones guess.
IMO, the best case solution for all of us is a replacement dome from someone who is willing to make them.
