Hmmm, glad I got one. Yet again I'm surprised how quickly this went to the wait list. I guess Hot Toys is tightening up there exclusive quantities :dunno?

its an illusion, people will jump on the WL now because "must be so hot right now" and then theyll magically convert to orders

Lol... SS doesn't need to drive up demand on a product that is an exclusive to a line that is wildly successful and has a ton of demand to begin with. I imagine when one of these exclusives ends up with overstock, HT cuts numbers. It's a delicate game they play, creating enough to get as many sales as possible but making only enough so that is sells out.

Knew this one would go the same way as the Shadowtrooper..., I'd love to know how many of each figure Sideshow had for sale though BUT I'm happy to be getting Hot Rod regardless. :)

...same thing happened with MIDAS, sold out quick, went to WL, and many, many conversions for that figure.

but still, now panic will ensue, people will PO this on the 'Bay, pay too much, similar pattern with most exclusives.

Yeah, my wait list got converted on Midas & I pondered about going onto the waitlist a couple of days as I recall SO you've got a good point there.

These kinds of releases, I actually hope it goes to WL so I can place an order with no immediate NRD and have a little more time to decide if I want it or not.

the main market for HT's is people who want to get their money back and make some. If they see an item in stock a month after PO's went up then they know its a dud, so they may cancel (the main reason NRD's began in the first place) So if SS can trick most into thinking its sold out and in demand, people will submit more orders because it seems like a surer thing, they sell the same amount of unit but create the illusion

Uhhh WAITLIST this early means NOTHING
Many many recent HT releases went to WL and then switched back later on.

so much for exclusive...peacemaker made it to BBTS

BBTS bought a few Peacemakers for full price and sold them with a $60 markup--and all of them sold out within a few hours of arriving, so they didn't get very many.

how is that a spoiler...

He hasnt seen the movie, in fact no one has. and its been speculated for months that Rhodey dies as we only seem to see him at the start and no where else in the film. Plus two IM's in that movie is gunna be a bit much with all the other character introductions

I for one avoid speculation and movie trailers that reveal key plot points as I prefer to go into a movie fresh rather than "oh yeah this is the bit where..."

This thread is about a suit from a previous film so it was surprising to read of Rhodey's forthcoming death in Age of Ultron. Sounds entirely plausible...bang goes that element of surprise.

If you enjoy sussing out the entire plot of the movie before you see it then good for you. Hope it plays out the way you expect.

It means they have to confirm if they can increase their order from HT in order to open it back up. That's all. They sold through their initial order and will then go back to HT and see if they can secure more, which will go to the people on the waitlist and, if they can get enough more, will allow them to open the preorder again. Conspiracy theories usually have rational explanations that aren't as exciting to talk about...
