I'm getting all six. I've hot little interest in the Tactical Batman though.

I'd actually be the opposite. If I got all six, I'd get TB since I didn't like Batman's regular suit in this the way I did BvS, and he had the tactical suit when they all fought together with Supes in the mix.

Clapping during the film? UK audiences are too reserved for that so I can't draw any such conclusions from my screening. :lol

I was just basing my concerns on the reports of it taking less than $100m opening weekend. That's not good news if true. Unless the international box office is huge it's hard to see it making it's money back at this point and the reason I can't understand people saying they don't care about RT. What they think doesn't influence how I enjoy the movie but it does keep plenty of folks away. I know people who only consider movies with a fresh tomato.

You get the feeling a lot of critics couldn't wait to trash this movie. WW had some of the CGI and villain issues JL had but was not held to the same standards, likewise the MCU movies.

Even with the lower domestic projection it’s still set for a $300-325mil worldwide opening which is larger than ragnaroks 235. Sometimes people over here forget that North America isn’t the whole world.

Of course that could all change but the audience score on RT is in the high 80s so there’s quite a disconnect

Did Thor open in all territories at the same time like JL though?

I think JL is struggling here in Europe to, needs China to come to the rescue.

I agree about the disconnect. I haven't yet spoken to anyone who didn't like it. Sure it's the the Dark Knight but its an enjoyable movie. It seems now everything has to be extremes. Things have to be either garbage or totally over hyped. The reactions to WW and JL kinda show that. Both solid 7 out of 10 movies for me but one torn to shreds while the other is held up as one of the great comic book movies.

Yup you’re exactly on point. And that’s the whole reason RT is so popular now.. there are no more shades of grey, just extremes. That’s why people like it’s completely weird binary rating system, and the critics just thrash things or hold them up as shining paragons whether it deserves it or not. To be honest there’s very few real critics left. It’s like the whole news thing nowadays. Anyone can be a ‘reporter’ or ‘critic’ and they’ll say whatever to get the clicks. It’s all worthless now.

I think you’re right about Thor though, it didn’t open all at once. Well it’ll be sad if that (or even SS lol) outperforms JL, but let’s see. Time to move on then lol

Just got back from seeing it, this afternoon. I really enjoyed it, but boy was the CGI de-mustache-ification, distracting. It was like once you saw it, you couldn't unsee it. Otherwise though, I don't really have any complaints. I'll definitely concede that it's an uneven movie, but it felt like a fun, quick two hours. I would still love to see the Zach Snyder version, as I'm sure it's significantly different. Hopefully, they'll release a longer cut that's closer to his vision on video, but for what it's worth I liked the theatrical version.

That's why I think some of them had their reviews written months ago especially ones saying Wonder Woman is the only good thing in this movie. That's so not true but it fits their narrative that WW movies are the only ones worth pursuing from here.

Yup, agreed.

But it's good to see folks enjoying it! Nice change from all the negativity:)

Although I do admit I enjoy all the craziness sometimes :lol

Under $100 mill opening weekend at the US box office is very bad. Regardless of how badly BvS was received, this is the Justice League, if it can't cross $100 mill opening weekend its a fail sadly. By the end im sure it will make a healthy enough return, but there is no doubt in my mind this will underperform massively, considering the brand.

Need JL to succeed so that I can continue to have another DC movies in the future....

I know we'll never get it, but I'd love a figure of
Superman in his sweatpants from the Hero's Park League fight.
Best scene hands-down.

Exactly. WB execs do not care about clapping or positive fan score. Ok maybe. They care more about MONEY. This was supposed to be the granddaddy of all dc movies. This was supposed to match or exceed avengers financial . At least 1B+ now its projected to open even less than iron man 1 2008?! Damn.

JL wasn't that bad but it was kind of a mess. I did not like bvs that much but the tone was good. JL had several different tones and it hurt the movie. We got batman cracking jokes now? I mean i know he did in other movies but this is the Snyder verse.

Anyways. I think i will only get the superman from this line

Yup, I think they would have been much better off just sticking with Snyder's original tone and vision for the film (not to mention composer). All those expensive reshoots to "lighten the tone" didn't really end up doing much except make the movie seem messy and rushed, and give the critics even more reason to rip it apart.

Thankfully WW performed so well this year that it probably bought a lot of goodwill with the studio with regard to the DCEU, and will keep them from wanting to ditch the entire thing. And I also remember reading that the strong box office for both WW and IT meant the studio wasn't as reliant anymore on JL doing well.

True but they WILL do something reactionary because of the perceived disappointment at the box office. The question is how severe will it be?

I don't think WB will ditch the current DCEU. If they do and then try and reboot it again, I think it'll make them look like ***** even more. That would essentially mean three Superman reboots in a little over a decade. I wouldn't be surprised at that point if critics would be salivating to rip a newly established franchise apart as well; at this point now just to basically troll them just for humor, being that they keep trying and trying and keep wondering where they're going "wrong".

As far as the film, I honestly don't think it strayed too much from being a Snyder-esque film. It still didn't feel MCU to me at all, as the humor really wasn't that corny and wasn't in abundance. While still more family friendly than MoS and BvS, it still didn't quite feel as family friendly as a MCU film to me.

Reviews of the DCEU have really been erratic: too serious, not serious enough, too much CGI, bad CGI, not enough humor, too much humor, get rid of Snyder, bring back Snyder, etc.

It's pretty laughable really when you think about it. How hard can it be to make a decent Superhero movie ? Especially for a studio the size of WB.

I know it's not as simple as that and it's easy to say, but c'mon take your time, get your s'*t together and put something together that is great.

Don't get me wrong I liked the movie, but it wasn't stellar. Perhaps all it needed was more polish, or the original running time. I'm still hoping the extended version will be released and have the same effect as the BvS extended version, which made the film so much better for me.

And Superman is really a standout in this movie. It's the perfect time to give him a true stand alone sequel not reboot and start from scratch. Even those who hated him in MoS and BvS now have the hopeful Superman they waited for. Cavil is perfect for this role. In interviews you can tell how much it means to him getting to play the character. I hope he's in Shazam to.

They obviously won't reboot while Wonder Woman is still so popular. Aquaman already has his movie done, this Flash is a big hit with audiences and Ray Fisher certainly deserves more time as Cyborg. The only serious question is around Affleck if he no longer wants to continue but one way or another The Batman is going to happen.
